Players of Light Theatre Troupe

Players of Light Theatre Troupe Community Theater for youth ages 13-21, Dickson, Tennessee Players of Light is a non-profit community theater program for youth ages 6-19.

We have two productions each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. We welcome anyone with a desire to learn and achieve into our program. All of our ticket proceeds currently benefit the children and families at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Unknown Number of Painted Sets/Backdrops from performances-These scenes are on thick bi-fold sheets of cardboard- the kind Lowe’s uses between cargo, they are roughly 8 foot tall x 6 foot wide. There may be some fabric ones. These were painted by students/parents for each performance. Victorian City Scenes, Forest Scenes, interiors, stone walls, fantasy candy land scenes. Small town America storefronts. We’ve forgotten what all we do have. Some pictures below. Below are pictures of some of the pieces.

2-----4’x8’x22” White Stage Extensions- These stage extensions break down into three pieces each for easy transportation. They are roughly 4 feet wide x 8 feet long, and about 22 inches in height each stage extension has a sturdy step on one end. The steps shown between the stage extensions are not included they belong to the building/venue. We used these to make more stage area at the venue where we performed. They could be used for outdoor weddings (they are extremely sturdy, small stage for churches, or toss some full-size mattresses on top and you have instant seating for that theater room you’ve been dreaming about.

Youth Theater Troupe
501c3 Liquidation Sale


The board members were unable to recruit parties interested in continuing the theater troupe and the 501c3 mission, so we are proceeding with the proper steps to dismantle a 501c3. Items will be sold at market value and the funds will be added to the remaining operations fund of Players of Light and the entire amount will be donated to the Patient Services Department of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.

The Board Members will be sorting through our storage units and areas and listing items as we have time.

We want to thank all those families, patrons and sponsors which have supported Players of Light!

Players of Light has lost one of its own. Prayers going out to the family of Neal Latham: Sherri LaRue, Zoe LaRue- Latham, Zera Larue-Latham, Janice DePriest LaRue Whiteman and everyone who is mourning the loss of this incredible human being. Neal and his family have been an integral part of this theater company over the years. He will be forever missed.

Our amazing director, Joey, and our fantastic team of department heads are extremely short staffed at the moment and NEED anyone who interested in helping behind the scenes to jump aboard this exciting train and ride the rails to a glorious curtain call! There's a job for everyone so inquire NOW about how you can help keep the theater train rolling in Dickson Tennessee.
