“Higher Up Texas has been a big help for my architecture career through the resources they offer. They also support me with college scholarships that help me fund school supplies for my architecture models. They have helped shape me into the person I am today by teaching me real-life skills, such as how to dress for interviews, how to talk to people, and the importance of a firm handshake. They have also shown me how to help others the same way they have helped me. Higher Up Texas is not just a program, but a family.

One thing I really appreciate about Higher Up Texas is that the letters in “HIGHER UP” stand for Honesty, Integrity, Grit, Hopefulness, and Readiness. I resonate with grit because no matter the obstacles in life, I will always overcome them and learn from them.

Congrats to our HUT of the Month, Jahrelle!

Jahrelle Lewis, a 2020 Dickinson High School graduate, is currently attending San Jacinto College pursuing a major in Natural Science

Our HUT members participated in structured mock interview sessions designed to strengthen their professional communication and interview skills in real-world scenarios. Participants received constructive feedback to help build confidence and better prepare for future employment opportunities.

🎓 Congratulations, Higher Up Texas Phase 1 Class of 2026! 🎓

We are proud to celebrate our Higher Up Texas Phase 1 seniors from Dickinson High School, Texas City High School, and The La Marque High School.

As part of this special milestone, these students will be representing their completion of Phase 1 with a mint green cord, symbolizing their hard work, growth and commitment through Higher Up Texas.
