🇺🇸Post 3 members: Our Monthly Meeting is Monday, June 8 at 6 pm.
➡LOCATION: Stark County Veterans Pavilion, 801 5th Ave. W in Dickinson.
The American Legion Auxiliary- Unit 3 will be meeting, too, so feel free to bring those who would be interested.
🕕Potluck Meal at 6 pm. Everyone please bring a side dish (salad, veggies, dessert, snacks, chips, etc.) to share. Post 3 will provide the main dish. Special presentations during the potluck!
🕖Meeting at 7 pm.

🇺🇸In recognition of the 82nd anniversary of the Allied Invasion on Normandy, now commonly known as D-Day, on June 6, 1944, a free veterans appreciation lunch will be hosted by the Daughters of the American Revolution on Saturday, June 6 at 11:30 am at the Eagles Club in downtown Dickinson. Special speakers and commemorative pins will be presented to Vietnam veterans.
🇺🇸The Missouri River Quilts of Valor ceremony at 12:30 pm will honor nine local veterans for their service and sacrifice..

Dickinson Legion Post 3 has adopted Lions Park at Patterson Lake and today Legionnaires, American Legion Auxiliary- Unit 3, Post 3 Sons of the Legion Squadron and family members met to clean up trash, pull weeds, rake the playground wood chips and enjoy lunch together. Our incoming ND American Legion commander, Jason Anderson, joined in, too!

American Legion Matthew Brew Post #3 held the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on May 25 at Dickinson State University's Stickney Auditorium to honor and remember US military members who died in service to our country. Highlights included memories and reflections by guest speaker John Schneider, retired Marine who served in Vietnam; the POW/MIA presentation by Brian Benesch; patriotic musical selections by N-Compass chorus; and "Taps" and the rifle salute conduted by the Post 3 Honor Guard. American Legion Auxiliary- Unit 3 was on hand with poppies.
May we never forget that freedom isn't free.

🇺🇸 How to fly the American flag on Memorial Day.

Remember the Memorial Day ceremony at 11 am MT today at Dickinson State University’s Stickney Auditorium.

In accordance with the U.S. Flag Code [U.S.C. Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 7(m)], on Memorial Day the United States flag is to be displayed at half-staff from sunrise until noon only, then raised briskly to the top of the staff.

That’s a wrap on grave markers! Post 3 spent the afternoon honoring our veterans ahead of Memorial Day on Monday. This is our longterm project to install markers on veteran graves in our local cemeteries.

National Poppy Day is today, the Friday before Memorial Day. American Legion Auxiliary- Unit 3 will have poppies at Monday’s Memorial Day program. 🇺🇸

The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. It reminds Americans of the sacrifices made by our veterans while protecting our freedoms. 🇺🇸

SkillsUSA is a student-led workforce development organization for high school students. Thirteen Dickinson students recently qualified for national competition in early June in Atlanta and Post 3 is proud to support these students with a $1,300 donation!
