Since 2019, the Dickinson Area Community Foundation has awarded more than $200,000 to local nonprofits, helping support healthcare, education, emergency services, youth programs, senior services, and many other community needs throughout our region.

As DACF Treasurer Oakley Thoeny shares:

"Many people think they need to choose just one or two charities when planning their legacy. A community foundation is a great option because your gift can support a variety of local needs and projects for years to come. Memorial Day is a time to slow down and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we have the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy every day.

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation was proud to award a 2023 grant of $6,984 to Best Friends Mentoring Program for their Group Mentoring Program.

This funding helped bring a new group mentoring opportunity for middle school-aged youth to our community, providing important support, guidance, and connection during a key stage of development.

Through this program, Best Friends Mentoring was able to create a specialized curriculum focused on emotional intelligence, peer relationships, goal setting, and leadership development, helping build stronger youth and a stronger community.

“The grant funding we received was pivotal in allowing us to bring this new group mentoring program to our community and enrich our overall mentoring efforts.”
