I will be out collecting today! We typically end our season by October 1st due to weather and the garden season coming to a close. However, the weather has stayed favorable for an extended season this year which has been a blessing. This will be our final week looking ahead at the forecast.

We reached a milestone today! ONE THOUSAND POUNDS donated to AMEN Food Pantry since July. 👏🏼👏🏼

With how the growing season started out, I wasn’t feeling optimistic we’d reach that this year, but you all came through with your generosity and continued produce donations.

Giving Gardens does not exist without you all and every year I feel incredibly grateful to work with so many individuals who truly the embody the meaning of community effort.

SEPT 22nd is our next donation day! 🫜 We are nearing the end of season so if you have any veggie stragglers left in your gardens or are tired of canning, you can send them my way! I’m the community Uber of vegetable donations around here.

Please note that I will not be available for a Thursday drop this week.

Another awesome donation day! 126 pounds of zucchinis, cucumbers, tomatoes, winter squash and Swiss chard. Our running cumulative total for donations this season is 906 pounds! This means we are 94 pounds away from crossing over the 1,000 donated pounds of produce this season! It’s a true community effort to be at that number in 2 months while navigating a challenging growing season for most gardeners.

SEPT 15th is our next donation day! We will be out collecting extra produce tomorrow morning. Please shoot me a message if you have any extras flowing in with nowhere to go or if you’re tired of eating zucchini 😜

Please note that Giving Gardens has ~2 weeks left of collecting produce. We typically end our collection season the first week of October as the weather forces our growing season to come to an end. 💚
