Public speaking wasn't the strong suit for Editor Josh Havard when he was in high school. That made it even more impressive how a group of high school athletes handled themselves during a recent Media Day. Diboll's Media Day can currently be seen on The Lufkin Daily News Facebook and YouTube pages. Corrigan-Camden's Media Day will debut on both pages Friday with Lufkin, Apple Springs, Groveton and Huntington to come in the following weeks. (Click on the column in the comments. Meet Arlondo, one of our incredible young men and the 2026 Middle School Mentee of the Year! He joined us 2 years ago, and will start high school in the fall.

We are asking for the community’s help in supporting Arlondo as he works to reach his fundraising goal. Over the past year, he has worked incredibly hard serving the community through volunteering in many different capacities while continuing to grow into an outstanding young man and leader.

Thank you all for always showing up for our youth and believing in their future. Every donation, and word of encouragement truly makes a difference! 💙💛
