We have about one week left for people to purchase items from our wish list to help supply our art program and the kitchen at camp this year. Every item purchased from this wish list frees up some of our budget to spend on the really fun stuff like the carnival games we are renting for one night, the supplies for our bubble/foam pit, and cool new toys for at the pool.

So if you have been meaning to grab something off of the list to help us out at CAMP Awesome, now is a great time to peruse the list. Some of the items on there are obviously fun stuff and others are boring old kitchen supplies, but all of them are needed and greatly appreciated.

A few reminders for tonight's drawdown:

#1) This event is for ages 21 and older.

#2) It is BYOB. We have sodas and water. There are a few adult beverages available for a donation.

#3) Dress code is casual.

#4) If you are feeling sick, please do not attend this year.

We understand the concerns about gathering at events and our upcoming drawdown. We encourage people to make a decision about attending or not attending based on your own personal needs. We ask anyone who feels unwell or who has been around anyone exposed to coronavirus or who has travelled recently where coronavirus is active to please not come.

Our upcoming camp for adults with disabilities that was scheduled for April 3-5 has been cancelled. We simply cannot take a chance that our teenagers or adults who volunteer might inadvertently expose our campers to anything. Thank you all for your support over the years and for understanding our need to cancel this camp.

CAMP

In October of 2014, a group of local teachers and community members got together and started Coastal Civitan, an organization focused on service projects to benefit people with special needs. The next summer we held our first Coastal Civitan Camp with 13 campers and about 50 counselors and staff. Since then there has been a children’s summer camp yearly and a spring adult camping weekend. In 2019 a fall adult camping weekend was added.

In early 2020 the core group of members got together and decided that we need to make our own nonprofit and Community Adventures Made Possible, LLC was born. We are a 501c3 and continue our mission of events where the goal is to provide activities that are as inclusive as possible and to provide a chance for neurotypical teenagers to interact positively and in a genuine manner with individuals who have disabilities.

We are entirely run by volunteers and rely on donations to keep camp affordable for all. Our fee for camp is a sliding scale based on need with the most anyone ever pays for our 4 day camp being $150.
