We had perfect weather and a beautiful venue at Covey Rise Lodge in Husser, LA yesterday to host our BFTSA Open Field Trial. It was a historical event for the BFTSA and for handler Mark Turner from our Tennessee Valley Chapter as he titled the first Field Trial Champion in the United States by winning his third open stakes field trial with his dog “Thorn”. Second Place and Gunner’s choice was awarded to Todd Kruebbe and his dog “Ben”. Third Place was awarded to Shane Corr and his dog “Leen”. Certificates of Merit were issued to handlers John Hurley and his dog “Gunner” and also Chris Smith with his dog “Brook”. Thanks to everyone that participated and helped with the trial, especially Jimbo and his crew at Covey Rise Lodge www.coveyriselodge.com for the beautiful venue. See you at our next event.

We had a great time at Gander Mountain in Hattiesburg this past weekend. The dogs were a big hit with everyone they came in contact with and even Rebel behaved like a perfect gentleman!

Don't forget we will be set up at the Hattiesburg Gander Mountain tomorrow and Sunday. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday & 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. While there on Sunday we will hold our monthly meeting at 3:00 p.m. in the Lodge.
