This storm water sits stagnant. The ground will not absorb it which means it can't because the soil is no longer anaerobic. When soil starts to rot it loses its ability to withstand any weight. This is horrible for not only home owners but the environment

Broken infrastructure could definitely cause this.

Sewer gas is formed by decomposing waste. It can sometimes leak into your home. Here's what you need to know if you smell sewer gas.

Did you know that your city, county or state getting a grant doesn't mean anything. It does not guarantee progress. This is a good example. Devils Elbow is supposed to manage storm water run off for a large portion of Diamondhead, It was deemed toxic and stagnant years ago by the EPA. Funds were given to dredge, drain and make it functional. Instead the grant money was reallocated to benefit someone personally and the golf course. the outcome of this is dead soil and possible contaminated groundwater that could now be impacting your health. We already have proof of the millions in damages to homes. Such a sad situation.

When I did a public records request the City could not find this information. Imagine. So I did it for them.
It is your money and you should know where and who it goes to.
