2026 Taiwanese American Heritage Week
On May 16, 2026, the United Abacus Arithmetic Youth Association (UAAYA) was greatly honored to be invited to participate in the annual Taiwanese American Heritage Week festival in Barnes Park, Monterey Park. Together with families from the community, we shared a wonderful day filled with culture, education, and joy!
During the event, our youth volunteers enthusiastically guided children and parents in creating their own mini abacuses while introducing the rich history and cultural significance behind this traditional tool. Through these engaging and interactive activities, we not only helped more people discover the beauty of abacus and mental arithmetic, but also highlighted the connection between the abacus and STEM education, emphasizing the importance of mathematical thinking, logical reasoning, and creativity.
Beyond cultural and educational outreach, we also shared how our organization empowers youth through leadership opportunities, teamwork, and community service, helping students develop confidence and leadership qualities. Seeing children actively participating and families warmly engaging with one another made the entire event especially meaningful and heartwarming.
Our special eco-friendly tote bag fundraiser, wheel spinning games, and claw machine activities also attracted enthusiastic participation from many community members, bringing excitement and energy to the festival while helping gather support and resources for our future youth development and community service programs.
This meaningful event not only strengthened the connection between our organization and the community, but also allowed more families to learn about and embrace our mission.
2026 大洛杉磯台美人傳統週 Taiwanese American Heritage Week
今年 5 月 16 日，「UAAYA 美國珠心算聯合會青少年菁英團」非常榮幸受邀參加一年一度的「大洛杉磯台美人傳統週 Taiwanese American Heritage Week」園遊會，與社區家庭共同度過了一個充滿文化、教育與歡樂的精彩一天！
活動當天，菁英團的義工們熱情地帶領孩子與家長親手製作迷你算盤，並分享算盤背後深厚的歷史文化。透過有趣的互動體驗，我們不僅讓更多人認識珠心算，也向大家介紹了算盤與 STEM 教育的連結，展現數學思維、邏輯能力與創造力的重要性。
除了文化與教育推廣，我們也向社區分享了團隊如何透過領導機會、團隊合作與志願服務，幫助青少年培養自信與領袖氣質。看到孩子們開心參與、家長們熱情交流，讓整場活動充滿溫暖與感動。
現場特設的環保托特包義賣、轉盤遊戲以及夾娃娃機募款活動，更吸引了許多民眾踴躍參與，為現場增添滿滿的歡樂氣氛，同時也為我們未來更多的青年培育與社區服務計畫，凝聚了支持與力量。
這次盛會不僅加深了團隊與社區之間的連結，也讓更多家庭進一步認識並認同我們的使命。
