What a month! May was loaded with AHEPA events throughout Region 5. Here is a rundown of just the events that Supreme Governor, Craig Theros, was able to attend:
May 3: The annual Greek Independence Day Parade in Detroit’s Greektown. It was a beautiful day to show off our Hellenic Pride!
May 10: Chapter 195’s hosting of the Fellowship Hour at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Ann Arbor, MI. Staying connected with the St. Nicholas community.
May 11: The 28th Annual Chapter 195 Golf Outing at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, MI. Proceeds of $5300 was presented to the Saint Louis Center, “A nonprofit caring residential community that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
May 13: The Congressional Banquet in Washington, DC. Takes place biannually to honor the members of congress that promote the ideals and issues of the AHEPA, its ideals and its members.
May 14: Capital Hill Day in Washington, DC. This day is set aside to visit members of congress in their offices to ask for support and voice our opinions regarding issues that are important to us.
May 17: AHEPA Day at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Ann Arbor, MI, where Chapter 195 presented $5000 in educational grants to qualifying high school seniors from the community.
May 18: District 11 Lodge Meeting (ZOOM) led by District 11 Governor Nick Cassudakis.
May 19: Omega Chapter 371 membership meeting in Harrison Township, MI to elect 2026-27 officers.
May 26: Hancock Chapter 103 100-Year Anniversary Celebration in Weirton, WV. A fantastic event showcasing the perseverance and continued dedication of its members and storied leadership of a premier Chapter of the AHEPA!
May 27: Ann Arbor Chapter 195 membership meeting in Ann Arbor, MI to elect 2026-27 officers.
May 31: District 10 Education Foundation Awards Banquet in Troy, MI., where $269K was awarded to 80 qualified high school, college and graduate school students.
