Are you a dog lover? If so, our local shelter is in desperate need of help on Sunday mornings! 🐾

Please consider helping out!

UPDATE: We have received more than enough waivers and thank you to everyone for your interest! It will take a bit of time to contact people but we do think we'll be covered now. We might ask some people if they would be interested in different shifts or even the cat side.

🚨🐾 WE NEED PEOPLE WHO SHOW UP. 🐾🚨

This is an urgent plea for RELIABLE, CONSISTENT volunteers to help clean the dog kennels at MCHS on Sunday mornings.

We’re going to be honest: lately, we’ve had too many people submit a waiver, tell us they’re coming to help, and then not show up.

And while that may seem like a small thing, the dogs are the ones affected. 💔

Our shelter dogs are only given the opportunity to get out of their kennels twice a day, so those morning kennel-cleaning shifts are incredibly important. They deserve clean spaces, time outside their kennels, fresh bedding, attention, and people who will follow through for them.

Is kennel cleaning glamorous? Nope. 😂
Is it sometimes messy? Absolutely.
Is it one of the most important things you can do for a shelter dog? YES.

Our Sunday morning crew starts at 7:00 AM and typically works for a couple of hours. You don’t need to be an animal expert—you just need to be dependable, willing to work, and committed to showing up when you say you will.

If you sign up, the dogs are counting on you. 🐶❤️

Please help us build a Sunday crew we can truly depend on. If you can consistently give a few hours on Sunday mornings, we need you.

🏐❤️ AND THAT’S A WRAP ON AN INCREDIBLE SUMMER OF VOLLEYBALL! ❤️🏐

What. A. Season.

Yesterday’s End of Year Tournament was the PERFECT way to finish it! a packed park, competitive volleyball, tons of laughs, great food, cold drinks, and one heck of a good time🍻☀️

A HUGE congratulations to our tournament winners! 🏆

And a special thank you to Gravity Storm Brewery for bringing the cold beer, energy, and FUN to yesterday’s tournament. You guys were an absolute blast to have in Dexter! 🍻

Most importantly, THANK YOU to everyone who made this season what it was.

To our league teams who showed up week after week, the families, friends and spectators who filled the sidelines, everyone who stopped out to eat and hang out, and all of the food trucks that joined us throughout the summer, thank you!

And a special shoutout to Oasis Bar &Grill for supporting volleyball all season long! ❤️From their generous donations, to having a team out on the sand every Monday night, to even keeping the bar closed until 4 on tournament day so they could come out and be part of the fun and bring it! You guys have been awesome supporters from start to finish.

We’re pretty lucky to have a hometown bar that shows up for its community the way you do. Thank you, Oasis! 🍻🏐

Seeing Dexter Park full of people having a good time together all summer has been pretty special.

And after the season we just had… you better believe we’re already excited for 2027! 👀🏐 We learned a lot, had an absolute blast, and we’re ready to make next year even bigger and better. If you watched from the sidelines this year thinking “I should do that next summer…” start getting that team together. 😉

And we’re not putting the volleyball away quite yet!

🏐 Wednesday night pick-up volleyball continues at 6 PM at Dexter Park as long as the weather allows. No team, league, or sign-up needed, just show up and play!

After an incredible summer of volleyball, it all comes down to one BIG Saturday at Dexter Park!

Come spend the day with us as the teams hit the sand for one final tournament and we celebrate an awesome summer of volleyball!

And this isn't just about what's happening on the courts... 👀

🍺 GRAVITY STORM BREWERY IS COMING TO DEXTER!

Gravity Storm Brewery out of Austin will be bringing their beer truck to the park and serving throughout the event! 🍻

We'll also be making a day of it with:

🍔 Burgers & hot dogs off the grill
🥗 Plenty of potluck-style food to share
🍺 Gravity Storm Brewery beer truck
🍻 BYOB
🏐 A full day of tournament volleyball

You DO NOT need to bring food to come! Our volleyball crew will have plenty to share. If you'd like to bring a dish, you're absolutely welcome to, but it is completely optional.

After a whole summer of Monday night games, we officially have our LEAGUE winners!

Congratulations to both teams on an awesome season! 👏 And a HUGE thank you to every team that joined us this year. From the very first Monday to the final games last night, you made this league what it was.

We also want to thank everyone who came out throughout the summer to watch, grab dinner, cheer from the sidelines, bring the kids to the park, and support our food trucks. Seeing the park so full of life on Monday nights has been one of the best parts of this entire season. ❤️

BUT — volleyball isn't over yet! 👀

🏆 The league season and the End of Year Tournament are TWO separate things!

The photos here are our regular-season league winners. This Saturday, all 8 teams start fresh in a double-elimination tournament to see who comes out on top for the End of Year Tournament!

Every Wednesday at 6 PM we'll keep playing casual pick-up volleyball at Dexter Park until the weather gets too cold. No league, no team required, no commitment — just show up, jump on a team, and have some fun!

So while Monday league nights may officially be in the books, volleyball at Dexter Park definitely isn't finished yet. ❤️🏐

🏐 ONE LAST MONDAY NIGHT! 🏐

Somehow we’re already here — tonight is the FINAL night of regular league volleyball! What a summer it has been. ❤️

And we’re sending Monday nights out with a good one…

🔥 Emily’s Street Eats will be at Dexter Park tonight serving up BBQ, egg rolls & plenty of other delicious food starting at 5 PM!

🏐 League volleyball begins at 6 PM

But don’t put away those volleyball shoes just yet… because the BIG finale is still coming. 👀👇

🏆 VOLLEYBALL FINALS — THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 22! 🏆

We’re wrapping up an incredible season with an afternoon at Dexter Park full of volleyball, food, drinks, and fun!

Saturday’s start time will be announced soon, but plan for the fun to get underway sometime in the morning and continue into the afternoon.
