- Meals for Seniors; Discounted meals an

d socializing at Gatherings once a week
- Tea Talks: Educational talks and entertainment with refreshments

- Federal and state income tax: Free tax advice and services including filing taxes
- Tablets: Free tablets with training to assist with electronic needs and on-line resources
- Snow Removal/Sand Bucket: Assist people who can’t shovel walkways/steps for safer walking surfaces
- Music events: Free concerts in Wayside Park
- Trivia games: Fun, challenging group trivia games
- Cooking Classes: Group cooking events for eating healthy and ethnic meals
- Fly Tying; Learning to make flies and share stories of “the one that got away”
- Food Commodity Distribution; Work with EAAA to give food boxes to low-income seniors
- Cooking Classes: Learn how to cook healthy and ethnic foods, share fun times and make new friends
- D.A.R.T.: Free transportation to doctor appointments, shopping, etc.
- FurEver Friends: A program to place older un-adoptable cats in the homes of lonely seniors
- Healthy Living for ME: Activities focused on preventing falls, living well and staying it
- Crafts Classes: Small group classes to socialize and create while learning a new skill and hobby
- Pop-up University: Group classes for increased social participation, communication and information for residents
- Wayside Park Benches: Benches and new paved entrance to allow better access
- Town Office Stairlift: Improved access to 2nd floor offices and services
- Fun Days in the Park: Music, food and games
- Cooking Matters: Cooking classes focused on healthy meals on a budget
- Flower arranging: Arranging beautiful seasonal centerpieces
- Craft Workshops: Group classes to socialize and create while learning a new skill
- Art classes and receptions: Creating art to display and share
- Decorated sweet treats: Enjoy decorating sweet treats
- Technology help for seniors: Assistance to learn about how to learn to use a computer and navigate the web to find resources

These potted plants and floral arrangements will offered by donation at the Abbott Memorial Library to benefit Spirits Place from 10 to 2 PM or stop by the shelter Friday or Saturday 12 to 4 PM. Spirits Place works with us under our Forever Friends program to place older cats in the homes of lonely seniors. Your donation will help support this worthy program.

Last week, we introduced one of our new offerings…wildflower bouquets. Our team member, Julie, is a talented florist and has brought so much life and color to our shelter. In addition to the wildflowers, we also have small potted houseplants available. A little piece of Spirit’s Place to call your own!

These beautiful arrangements and adorable potted plants will be available tomorrow at the Abbott Memorial Library in Dexter, from 10 am to 2 pm. You can also stop by the shelter on Friday or Saturday from 12 pm to 4 pm.

All proceeds will be dedicated to the cats of Spirit’s Place and to our mission of helping as many community cats as possible. Because every life matters.

P.S. Check out those adorable pots! They were painted by our craft team and a group of students from Nokomis High. A community in action is a compassionate one!
