The Capitol lawn performances are open to the public, and welcome everyone to come celebrate with us.
May 14 holds deep meaning for Hmong families across the nation as we commemorate the 1975 Fall of Long Cheng, marking the final airlift evacuation of Hmong allies from Laos following the Secret War and the end of the Vietnam War.
The first Hmong families arrived in Michigan in 1976 as refugees. Nearly 50 years later, Hmong Americans continue helping shape Michigan through the automotive industry, growing businesses, education, healthcare, public service, community leadership, and the preservation of cultural traditions — building a lasting legacy of resilience for future generations across our state.
We welcome all to join the Hmong Family Association team from 3–7 PM at the Lansing Shuffle 325 Riverfront Dr Lansing, Mi 48912 for Hmong American Day — an afternoon of community conversations, storytelling, culture, and connection. Enjoy Lalafish's special Hmong-inspired menu while connecting with community leaders, families, and friends as we celebrate the strength, resilience, and lasting legacy of the Hmong community. ❤️
Together, we celebrate heritage, resilience, and the power of community.
