A group of concerned and experienced volunteers has organized the Save Dewey Beach Foundation to raise awareness about how big wireless corporations are encroaching on the beaches, wildlife and oceans of Dewey Beach, DE Members of the Save Dewey Beach Foundation’s Board and committees have been recognized by federal, state and county officials totaling 16 awards, citations, senate and congressiona
l recognition, proclamations and 2 Governor citations from two different Governors and from different political parties for nonprofit service and volunteer accomplishments in their communities. Member experience includes working with large public and private corporations and executive leaders across global retail, healthcare, higher education, foundation and technology companies. Through his previous volunteer and nonprofit work, the current Chair of the Save Dewey Beach Foundation has been recognized for adopting the "Standards For Excellence” and was awarded with the Maryland Nonprofits “Seal of Excellence." The Standards for Excellence are an A-Z resource on best practices for nonprofit organizational governance, management, policies and procedures, and legal compliance at any stage of a nonprofit’s lifecycle. The Seal of Excellence lets stakeholders know that precious resources are being stewarded wisely. The Seal of Excellence notifies the community that the nonprofit serves, the board and the staff are all operating at the highest levels of accountability and openness, and is committed to best practices.
