Companies (CLAIM SHARKS) that received warning Cease & Desist letters from the Department of Veterans Affairs for potentially SCAMMING veterans!

Use CAUTION if you choose to go this route versus an ACCREDITED company or person such as your County/State Veteran Services office or an accredited company such as VFW, American Legion, DAV, etc.

Reminder: Non-accredited people helping with claims likely either cannot pass the test or cannot pass two background checks. Are you basing your and your family's future on this type of ... person or company?

The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans came together to support the furloughed military technicians from Camp Grafton. The service members had to go back to work without pay this week after missing a month of pay.

The organizations provided a night at Dockside Entertainment with pizza from Coyote Pizza.

Thanks to Coyote Pizza for the awesome pizza!

A very special “Thank You” to the Devils Lake Daily Journal and Louise Oleson for providing a raffle of gift cards to the families to help them with groceries. It’s great to have such thoughtful community members.

North Dakota American Legion Post 24
VFW Post 756, and
North Dakota Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5

will be hosting a family night for furloughed military technicians at Dockside Entertainment Center on Wednesday, 5 November from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Event is for furloughed military technicians and their families. They are on their second missed paycheck and are being told they need to go back to work without pay.

Pizza will be provided.

Members of the American Legion, VFW, VFW Auxiliary Post 756, and DAV are welcome to come and show their support for these military families affected by the shutdown. (Wear your organization hat or shirt)

Organizations that are able to provide assistance to these families are welcome to set up a table to help them sign up for programs or benefits. Contact the American Legion at [email protected] if you are interested in setting up a resource booth or table.
