F5 Project - Minot hosted its monthly Re-Entry Supper last night. Thank you, Wade for sharing your story!

Last night at our Reentry & Connection Meal, we had the privilege of hearing from Wade Duchaine, who shared a powerful story of family, addiction, criminal justice involvement, and ultimately, redemption.

Wade spoke openly about being involved in the criminal justice system from the age of 13 and how addiction became deeply rooted in his family and his life. But his story didn’t end there.

Today, Wade’s focus is simple but powerful: being a good dad, being a good person, and giving back to the community he once felt lost in through criminal activity and addiction.

His story was a beautiful reminder that reentry is about so much more than coming home. It’s about reconnecting. Rebuilding relationships. Finding purpose. And becoming part of a community again.

Wade did an incredible job reminding us that people are more than their past, and that change is possible when someone is given the opportunity, support, and connection to create something different.

Thank you, Wade, for sharing your story and for reminding us why these conversations matter. ❤️

Your past may be part of your story, but it does not have to be the end of it.

From our F5 Project - Williston - Watford City office:

September is Recovery Month 🖤❤️

Meet Gina, Care Coordinator and Peer Support for the Williston an Watford City area.

"I've been thinking a lot about what recovery really means to me.

My story isn't a perfect one. I didn't get sober because life suddenly became easy. I got sober because I knew I couldn't keep living the way I was living.

Then life happened in ways I never could have imagined.

I lost my son, Tyler. I experienced a kind of grief I didn't know a person could survive. And I had a choice to make—would I go back to the things I once used to numb the pain, or would I learn to walk through the pain sober?

By God's grace, I chose to keep walking.

That doesn't mean I've never struggled. I've had hard days. I've questioned things. I've cried. I've wanted to understand why. But today, I don't have to drink to get through those moments.

God has slowly taken the broken pieces of my life and given them purpose.

The woman who once needed someone to believe in her now gets the privilege of sitting beside people who are struggling and saying, “I believe there is more for you.”

That's what recovery means to me.

And every day I get to help someone else find their way forward, I am reminded that God can use even the hardest parts of our story.

My past will always be part of my story. Tyler will always be part of my story. But neither one gets to write the ending.

I'm still here. I'm still sober. I'm still healing. And I'm still going.

If you're struggling today, please know this: your story isn't over. Keep going. ❤️

From our Bismarck office:

Our team spent Friday at Prairie Recovery Center for a full day of sharing barriers, successes, and the power of second chances.

Thank you to the Prairie Recovery Center team for having us and for the meaningful work you do every day. Grateful for the conversation and the connection; see you soon!

09/14/2026

Recovery isn’t about having every day figured out. It’s about continuing to move forward, one step at a time.

Every step matters. Every conversation matters. And support can make the journey feel a little less heavy.

Recovery is a journey., and you don’t have to walk it alone.

September is National Recovery Month.

At F5 Project, we see recovery every day.

We see it in the person who walks through our doors ready to try again.
In the parent rebuilding trust with their family.
In the person coming home from incarceration determined to build a different life.
In the peer who turns their own lived experience into hope for someone else.

Recovery isn't always a straight line. It can be messy, hard, courageous, and deeply human.

And no one should have to do it alone.

This month, we celebrate the people doing the work. We honor the peers, families, providers, and communities walking beside them. And we recommit ourselves to breaking the barriers that too often stand between someone and their next opportunity.

Because recovery is possible.
People can change.
And everyone deserves the chance to move forward.

Today is National Nonprofit Day — a day to recognize the organizations, staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and communities working every day to make a difference.

At F5 Project, that work looks like walking alongside people as they rebuild their lives.

It looks like helping someone find stable housing. Supporting recovery. Navigating reentry. Removing barriers to employment, transportation, healthcare, and opportunity. And sometimes, it simply looks like being there when someone needs to know they don’t have to figure out what comes next alone.

None of this work happens because of one person or one organization. It happens because communities choose to show up.

Today, we’re especially grateful for our incredible F5 Project team, our community partners, our supporters, and the people we have the privilege of serving.

There is still work to do — and we’re proud to keep moving forward together.
