Trailblazers is a dynamic program for first-year campers, offering a fun and engaging introduction to Camp Wilderness and the Scouts BSA program. Scouts build confidence while learning and practicing essential Scouting skills on their journey toward First Class rank.

🌟 Program Area Highlight: Fishing 🌟
Where Every Cast Could Catch β€œThe Big One” 🎣

Our Fishing program is one of Camp Wilderness’s most celebrated offerings, combining fun, skill-building, and the thrill of reeling in a trophy catch.

Whether you’re a first-time angler or a seasoned pro, this area has everything you need: a spacious dock, 14' Lund motorboats, rods, reels, tackle, and bait. Our experienced staff will guide Scouts and leaders through techniques, safety, and the joy of angling.

Important Guidelines:

Youth must be accompanied by an adult who has passed the BSA swim test to use motorboats.
Motorboat operators require a MN or State Boating License.
Youth under 16: No fishing license required.
16 and older: Must purchase a valid Minnesota fishing license before arrival.

Whether casting from the dock or heading out on the lake, the Fishing program is a can’t-miss experience for all outdoor enthusiasts! 🌊🐟

At Camp Wilderness, our Cooking Merit Badge program gives Scouts hands-on experience in both camp and trail cooking β€” helping them build confidence, creativity, and outdoor leadership along the way.

Held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday (9 AM–1 PM)
Learn meal prep, fire safety, and delicious camp recipes.
