✨ MDABSE 2026 Annual Retreat Recap ✨

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Metropolitan Detroit Alliance of Black School Educators gathered for our Annual Retreat at Oak Grove A.M.E. Church.

Under the theme “Empowering Our Future Through Collective Vision and Leadership,” members came together to reflect, collaborate, and envision the future of MDABSE.

Through meaningful conversation, shared ideas, and collective insight, our vision took shape—reflecting where MDABSE is going and the impact we aspire to make.

Our retreat was more than a gathering. It was an opportunity to look ahead, think boldly, and bring our collective voices together around a shared vision for MDABSE’s future.

Our vision took shape. Our direction became clearer. And together, we are moving MDABSE forward.

Educate. Advocate. Empower.

The MDABSE Teen Leadership Summit was a SUCCESS!

On Saturday, April 18, we witnessed something powerful—our students stepping into their voices, their purpose, and their leadership.

From developing 90-Day Action Plans to engaging in meaningful mentorship and building advocacy skills, our students didn’t just participate… they led.

They spoke with confidence
They shared bold ideas
They embraced their future

This is what it looks like when we move students from consumers of education to architects of their own future.

Thank you to every member, mentor, and supporter who showed up and poured into our youth. Your presence made the difference.

This is just the beginning.
