Temujin and Paula Kensu seek a New ERA in Criminal Justice Reform after the state of Michigan steals 36 years of Temujin's life in a Wrongful Conviction.

THERE ARE MANY MEN AND WOMEN IN THE MICHIGAN PRISON SYSTEM WHO HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF FIRST- DEGREE MURDER AND SENTENCED TO MANDATORY LIFE. MANDATORY LIFE IS VIRTUALLY A DEATH SENTENCE. A NUMBER OF THESE MEN AND WOMEN SENTENCED TO MANDATORY LIFE HAVE BEEN INCARCERATED FOR OVER 20,30, EVEN MORE THAN 40 YEARS HAVE BECOME REHABILITATED AND NO LONGER REPRESENTS A THREAT TO SOCIETY. MANY OF THESE LIFERS COST THE STATE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN MEDICAL COST EACH YEAR. MICHIGANS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS HAS GONE FROM 1.6% OF THE STATES GENERAL FUND SPENDING TO NEARLY 20%. THE COST OF LIFE IMPRISONMENT IS HIGH, IN THE RANGE OF $1 MILLION PER ADULT IN PRISON WITH EXPENSES RISING PRECIPITOUSLY AFTER MIDDLE AGE.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO INTELLIGENTLY AND PRACTICALLY ACHIEVE MEANINGFUL PRISON, SENTENCING AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM WITHOUT ADEQUATELY CHANGING THE WAY WE VIEW PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF A VIOLENT OFFENSE. SIMPLY BECAUSE A PERSON HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF A VIOLENT OFFENSE DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT THE INDIVIDUAL IS A VIOLENT PERSON OR WILL REMAIN VIOLENT FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE. PEOPLE AGE OUT OF CRIME, LEARN FROM THEIR PAST BEHAVIOR, DEVELOP SINCERE REMORSE AND EMPATHY FOR THEIR VICTIMS, MATURE AND ACHIEVE GENUINE REFORM THROUGH LONGTERM INCARCERATION. MANY OF THESE MEN AND WOMEN COULD SAFELY BE RELEASED BACK INTO SOCIETY.

GOV. GRETCHEN WHITMER HAS STATED THAT SHE WILL CONSIDER PUTTING A CAP ON LIFE SENTENCES IN MICHIGAN. A CAP COULD BE A TERM OF YEARS BETWEEN 25-30 YEARS, INSTEAD OF NATURAL LIFE. HOWEVER YOUR GOVERNOR GRETCHEN WHITMER HAS EXPRESSED THAT SHE NEEDS TO SEE THE SUPPORT OF THE CITIZENS OF MICHIGAN TO HELP HER MAKE THAT DECISION. WE NEED FOR YOU TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT BY TWEETING OR POSTING OUR GOVERNOR THE FOLLOWING SIMPLE MESSAGE: LIFE SENTENCES.

FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com/GretchenWhitmer

WE HAVE TO SHOW UNITY IN ORDER TO SEE CHANGE. POST AND CONTACT YOUR GOVERNOR EVERYDAY UNTIL SHE GETS THE MESSAGE. OUR GOAL IS TO GENERATE OVER 1 MILLION MESSAGES. WILL YOU BE APART OF THE MILLION?

Lifelong Michigander. Proud mom. Governor of Michigan.

Good morning loved ones and Saints.
I pray that you and your families are doing spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically well. I pray for broken bonds to be mended, broken hearts to be repaired, broken promises to be forgiven, and broken hopes to be entrusted to God to be worked out.
There is not a door closed by man that God cannot reopen. There is not an emotional wound inflicted by man that God cannot heal. The weight of harboring hate or anger will only wear us down and take up valuable space in our lives that could be used to hold more of God's blessings. His promise is the only promise made to hold onto.
Our history is nothing less than His-story. Our future is for nothing more than His glory.
How can a broken bond render either or irrelevant?
Before I go, I leave you with this:
Every-"thing" worth having always "costs" some-"thing". Yes, salvation is a free gift "offered" by God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. However, the "choice" to choose Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior requires our own personal sacrifices; to stop living and thinking the ways we were living and thinking to follow the example of Jesus Christ to God; the "cost".
I love you Saints. But God...loves you more

(HTLB POST)
Beloved Brothers & Sisters:
I hope this message find you well. We are looking for anyone who has been beaten and forced to sign a false confession by Sgt. Ron Sanders or Ofc. Gregory Edwards. If these police officers were the cause of you being wrongfully convicted, then please contact Claudia Whitman from the National Capital Crime Assistance Network (NCCAN) at (970)676-4254.

On another note... being locked down behind the razor wire fence is a horrible feeling, especially for those of you who have been "legally" sentenced to die with a LIFE sentence. I'll never forget when I was in the Wayne County Jail (Detroit), going to trial, fighting a murder, and facing LIFE. And I'll never forget the men who are doing time, especially those who I knew at Thumb CF and Kinross when I done 2 for the gun.

On Oct 18th, 2022, I had the privilege to return to Thumb CF in Lapeer, Michigan to pickup a friend who I met when I was there. His name is James T. Fuller, aka Bear. He served 33 years the 1st time, stayed out for 2, came back for a gun, and served 10 more. 2 days before his release, 50 men came down on base and gave him a bunch of hugs and a "Freedom" card along with farewell salutations. On the day of his release, I waited for Bear in the parking lot. We hugged and shared tears of joy. The video of his release can be seen on Facebook at Keith Hudson.

On Aug 11th, 2022, Leon Douglas, aka Louie Boy, was released from Kinross. He had served 50 calendar years behind bars. When it was time for him to leave, about 40 to 50 prisoners walked Louie Boy to the control center in a royal fashion. I remember doing time with Louie Boy at Thumb, and I used to be like "Dang, he has done more time behind bars than I been alive." That was way too much time, and I'm so glad he is home. What made his release even better is that I was able to hangout with both Louie Boy and Bear together, at the same time. That is a memory I'll never forget.

Both Bear and Louie Boy had been told by the courts that they would die in prison, that they'd never see the streets again. Man often tells us one thing, but God can override what man says whenever He so chooses. God has great things in store for his people. He says
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Jeremiah 29.11) (KJV). But it is important that we live our lives in submission to him, to give him honor and glory, and let him use us to be a blessing in this world. I hope that this message reminds you that God is still alive and no matter how bad your situation looks, God can do the impossible.

I love you with the love of Christ. Your problem isn't too big for God. He hasn't lost a fight yet. And remember, if you ever feeling down, just look up!

Mass Incarcerated Inmates Frustrations

By William G. Cornwell

On August 11, 2022, the Detroit Free Press ran a story about how the Michigan's Department of Corrections has become a "time bomb" because of chronic staffing shortages, overworked and exhausted corrections officers, and frustrated inmates.

These issues are more complex, nevertheless, it has become a mental health crisis. When the frustration of inmates are addressed, a nonchalant approach to their issues are taken creating a climate of emotionally agitation to the point of losing of self-control.

Due to the shortage of staff prisoners are enduring:

* classes and programs that are required for inmates to take to be paroled are prolonged;

* prisoners are not being seen by health care or mental health staff;

* inmates are not being given the required out of cell time;

* the lack of visitation due to Covid restrictions and scheduling that makes it difficult for family and friends to visit;

* several MDOC mailroom's have been rejecting prisoners electronic JPay mail & pictures allowed by policy frustrating prisoners connection with their loved ones;

* as the prices raise due to inflation, the MDOC prisoners pay has been frozen at pennies making it difficult and impossible for some just to buy the bare minimal to survive.

* not to mention, the mistreatment of inmates, due to MDOC staffs frustration;

Even though, there is a shortage of staff, prisoners have maintained positive behavior in the face of being treated as if they don't matter. The violence among inmates is not as high as reported, however, the su***de rate among inmates have risen due to mental tension within the MDOC.

Byron Osborn, president of the Michigan Corrections Organization, offered a solution of asking the Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to activate the Michigan National Guard. This solution sounds like a bandaid on a bullet wound. To solve a real problem, we have to present a real solution.

The MDOC spends 1 billion of tax payers dollars, to incarcerate individuals who are no longer a threat to the public safety. Michigan also has 20% of its prison population pass their Earliest Release Date (ERD). Prisoners within the MDOC under Truth-In-Sentencing, serve 100% of their minimal sentence and up to 10% of their maximum sentence before being released.

A long term solutions:

* reduce the prison population, of rehabilitated inmates to close prisons;

* the release of elderly prisoners who don't pose a threat to the public safety and who's health is failing;

* reinstate Good Time that allows inmates who take part in their rehabilitation to earn a parole;

* close prisons to consolidate the MDOC work force.

In the interest of mental health, security and public safety, and the changing of time, its time Michigan gets smart on crime. To release the pressure of the "time bombs" before they blow-up in our face
