⚡️Freedom and security sit on opposite ends of a spectrum⚡️
Everybody wants both. It doesn’t work like that. Sorry. 💔
The next phase of freedom you crave will ALWAYS cost you the current version of security you’re hiding inside.
It’s not that freedom is dangerous, you just built your sense of security on limitations you placed on yourself.
You can’t ride a wave while clinging to the shore.
*What* you are (a body, a nervous system, a mind) wants the illusion of safety through certainty, predictability, control, routine, familiarity. Even when those things are suffocating you.
*Who* you are (a spirit, a soul, an essence… whatever you want to call it) wants perpetual expansion through movement, possibility, risk, growth. Even when those things terrify you.
Any security you feel while you’re aching to expand isn’t even real, it’s just what’s known.
It’s the predictability of the cage whose bars you’ve memorized, down to the last spot of rust on them.
It feels safe because it’s familiar.
That’s what’s on the chopping block.
You’re not losing actual safety, you’re losing familiarity, that’s why it feels like danger.
You can redefine and rebuild security in the freedom you expand into, but only at the cost of what you now consider as “safe”.
It will feel like dying. Anyone trying to sugarcoat this process is lying to you. It is going to hurt. I promise.
I know because it hurts me too, every day.
No pain, no gain.
I’m not romanticizing suffering, these are just the brass tacks.
But security CAN shift.
From:
“I am secure because I can predict what will happen next”
to:
“I am secure because I know that I can handle whatever happens.”
That’s Wave Method. 🌊
