PLEASE forgive these photos. 😂 I try really hard to take photos that properly showcase the beautiful ways our community shows up. 🥲 But with yesterday’s cupcake fiasco & driving approx. 500 miles across Metro Detroit, the photography skills just weren’t on point!

But the Box made it to its family- cupcakes, banner, autograph and all! And the happiness of that little boy is really all that matters 🧡🩵

I messed up with this Birthday Box. 🫠

Today, I worked from 10am-7pm.
During my break, I made a special trip across town to pick up some phenomenal cupcakes that were donated by Tons of Sweetness (lovely meeting you btw) for tonight’s Birthday Box. I brought them back to work with me, put them in the fridge & finished my day.

(For some geographical context: I live in Hamtramck. I work in Macomb. Tonight’s delivery was in Inkster. All of these things are, unfortunately, not close to each other. 😂)

My plan was to:
Leave work at 7.
Drive home.
Put the Box together.
Take some pictures.
Deliver the Box by 10pm.

Except after I got home, I realized I LEFT THE CUPCAKES AT WORK.

35 minutes away. In the opposite direction.

🙂

So… back to Macomb I went.
Then turned around & made the HOUR drive, past my house, out to Inkster. 🚗💨

I was supposed to deliver the Box between 7pm-10pm. I pulled up at 10:20. 😭

Yes. I messed up. I was tired. I was hungry. I cried. And I REALLY did not want to make that drive back to Macomb. But somewhere tonight, there’s a mother with a Birthday Box. And tomorrow, a little kid is going to have an awesome birthday. With awesome cupcakes. 🧁

Running The Birthday Project is sometimes cute…
But sometimes it’s being absolutely sick at the sight of the inside of your car. 😂

Whatever.
The Box made it.
The cupcakes made it.

And now, at 11pm, I’m FINALLY home eating dinner.

Then I’m going to bed. ✌🏼
