28th Street got a new rhythm!
India Solomon took on the largest wall she’s ever touched, and now Class Act Detroit sings.
Lines wander like a melody that never repeats. Color sits easy next to stone that’s been holding this block down for decades.
Pull up at golden hour. The light finishes the piece.
What’s the first shape your eye lands on?

The biggest wall of India Solomon career.
In a year of milestones, Indy completed the largest mural yet, in partnership with City Walls and Class Act Detroit. Bold color and movement on a wall that belongs to the neighborhood.
This is the work: Detroit artists, Detroit walls, Detroit stories.
Congratulations, Indy. Keep going bigger.

Class Act Detroit x India Solomon Solomon.

For her final B.A.A.R.P. wall, India opened the brush to Class Act Detroit students and the community. Young artists painted next to a working muralist, learning the craft on a wall that will stand for years.

Built by the neighborhood. Permanent record.

India Solomon is finishing her final wall for the Blight Abatement Artist Residency Program.

She opened the process to the community. India invited students from Class Act Detroit Act Detroit and neighbors to paint with her, and the mural was made with their hands alongside hers.

B.A.A.R.P. puts Detroit artists on the hardest hit, most visible walls in the city. India’s last wall is a permanent record made by the people who live around it.
