This space used to be where the nuns of the old Catholic school would sleep.

Now, we're adding to its history — and our community is the one writing it.

This event space has hosted all kinds of groups: we're laughing, learning, creating memories, and coming together. It's not just a room. It's the place you made your first kintsugi bowl. The place you were introduced to a nonprofit you now support. The place you danced on the sunset rooftop with friends. The place a toast turned into tears of hope.

And on October 15th, we get to add one more chapter — Night at the Village — where we'll celebrate this community now, and everything it will become.

Every beautiful gathering is stitched together by people who say "yes!" ✨

To the sponsors of Night at the Village: thank you. Your generosity is the golden thread running through this whole evening. Because of you, our gathering spaces will glow (rooftop included!), artists will keep creating, our kitchen will serve every heart in the room, our garden will keep growing, our kiddos will keep learning and a whole lot of neighbors will come together under one sky.

Detroit-famed Blackman/Arnold World Jazz Guitar Duo brings a dynamic global mix of rhythms & melodies from around the world, and they'll be set up right in our art gallery at Night at the Village - our one year anniversary and fundraiser!

Picture it: art on the walls, strings in the air and neighbors becoming friends, all while the music carries you somewhere new. ✨

Plants grow with patience. So did this place.

What started as just a piece of land has slowly, steadily become something alive. A 26-bed garden, grown in partnership with Brightside Collective and Featherstone Garden, one season at a time. A pocket forest, brought to life by SUGi. Wildflowers meadows scattered throughout, bringing their own lively color wherever they please.

A giving bench now wraps around the tree our community was so happy to see stay. 🌳

Now our kiddos learn right there in the dirt, hands busy and curious. We cook the very food we sow. The flowers invite butterfly friends and brighten our tables too! And just beyond it all, our trail winds through, inviting people to gather, breathe a little deeper and take it all in.

From a plot of land to a place that feeds, teaches and gathers us, that’s the kind of growth we’re proud of.

Some rooms just know how to hold beauty.

Our gallery is one of those rooms. It’s a place where artists come to create and share their work, and where we’ve had the joy of being part of Detroit Month of Design and welcoming friends in for NCECA. We also hosted MOKKA, the Museum of Kintsugi Kids Art, where little masterpieces took over the walls and made everyone smile. ✨

Here’s what we keep learning: art brings people together. Someone lingers by a piece, someone else wanders over and suddenly there’s a conversation. We’re so happy to have a place to welcome artists to create and share their work, and where everyone who walks through feels invited to stay a while.
