Join us Wednesday, April 29 and Wednesday, May 6 from 9:30AM–12:30PM as we return to the Kintsugi Garden 🌱

Last week, we filled our garden beds with fresh soil—an early step in preparing the ground for what’s to come. Now, we begin the slow, meaningful work of tending. Of listening. Of growing something together.

Come as you are. Bring your hands, your curiosity and a willingness to get a little messy. We’ll care for the soil, share in the quiet rhythm of the morning and plant the beginnings of something that will keep growing long after the morning ends.

We stretched Earth Day into something we could really sink our hands into—two days of soil, seeds and small beginnings 🌱

With Annie Hakim from .garden, our little learners planted sunflowers, zinnias and dill in egg cartons—tiny ecosystems we’ll get to nurture and watch unfold right from our classroom windows.

Out in the field, the kiddos scattered clover beside the garden, a quiet act of care for the land that holds us. A reminder that even the smallest seeds, when tended together, can grow into something generous.

We were so honored to welcome a local jazz trio, .n.co, to Kintsugi Village School today! Our kiddos had a blast learning about tempo and they even played some of our favorite songs, including “Hop Little Bunnies” 🎶 🐰

New partnership alert 🌸

We’re so excited to be partnering with to bring pollinator gardens to Kintsugi Village’s outdoor spaces!

Creating Habitats for Pollinators is a Michigan-based nonprofit dedicated to restoring native habitats and protecting pollinators through education, community partnerships and hands-on planting initiatives. Their work helps create thriving ecosystems right in our own neighborhoods—and now, right here at Kintsugi.

Together, we’ll be planting native species that support bees, butterflies and other essential pollinators while giving our little learners (and grown-up neighbors!) opportunities to explore, observe and connect with nature in meaningful ways.

More blooms. More butterflies. More beauty.

Save the date: Wednesday, April 29 to help us spread seeds for our wildflower meadows.

Stay tuned as our outdoor spaces begin to bloom.

🌱 Team Member Spotlight 🌱

Jamirah joins Kintsugi Village as a Co-Teacher. She is currently studying Early Childhood Education at Oakland Community College and brings three years of experience as an assistant preschool teacher. She is passionate about creating joyful, nurturing spaces where children feel safe to learn, grow and be themselves—always adding a touch of silliness along the way. ✨

Outside of the classroom, Jamirah enjoys time with her four dogs—Tootsie, Coco, Milo and Oliver—and staying connected with her faith, family and friends. She also loves expressing her creativity through bold, eye-catching earrings. Jamirah is excited to grow alongside the Kintsugi Village community. 💕

We’re so happy to have you on board, Jamirah!
