We had a full house last night at Gather in Kintsugi Garden 🌿

Neighbors turned into friends over snacks and slow walks through the garden, while the kids got their hands deep into homemade play dough mixed with flowers and herbs pulled straight from the beds.

Another Wednesday well spent at the Village 💛

✨ One year of Kintsugi Village calls for one very special night ✨

Join us October 15th for A Night at the Village — great food, live music, art and the people who make this place magic. We're celebrating everything we've built together and raising a glass (and some funds!) for everything still to come.

Wander the gardens. Reconnect with old friends. Make some new ones. It's a party, and it's a fundraiser, and it's going to be unforgettable.

For our inaugural Night at the Village, we honor Anthony Marsalese and his husband of 38 years, Jeff Davison — partners in life, in love and in creativity. Anthony was a stylist, performer and ceramicist, and above all, a man who made everyone feel they mattered — generous with his talent, his table and his heart.

Anthony sadly passed away this spring. He visited Kintsugi Village only once, during the NCECA conference held in our gallery, and was deeply moved by our mission and what we are building. We refer to moments like this as "Kintsugi Moments.” We never had the chance to meet him — but after his passing, his family and friends chose to honor his memory with gifts to Kintsugi Village, helping people find their own creative voice and community right here at the Village.

This October, we’ll honor them both and the many people who make the work of Kintsugi Village possible — while coming together to support a future where creativity, connection and community are accessible to all.

📚✨ We had the joy of hosting a roundtable here recently for Honolulu Blues by joined by Lions alum and fan favorite Zach Zenner for a conversation on health, purpose and life beyond the scoreboard, moderated by Kate Milligan of .

There's something so special about a gathering full of people who came together for real conversation and real stories. New connections made, big ideas shared and our space got to do exactly what it was built for: bring people together. ✨

Got a cool event brewing? We would love to host it! More info: https://kintsugivillage.org/retreat-center-event-space-interest-form/

🌳 Facilities & Grounds Coordinator — help keep our campus, garden, and pocket forest thriving inside and out

Two years ago, we saw a building full of history and a neighborhood full of kids — and we got to work.

Our home was once a Catholic middle school, which made the mission feel even more right. Education was already written into these walls! 📚 We just carried it forward — inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our kiddos learn through the arts, culinary, gardening and a whole lot of play.

We started with one classroom. Today, it’s 3 full summer camp rooms.

Every piece of this building has a story, and we’re just getting started on this one!

Come celebrate what we’ve built — and help us write the next chapter. Join us at Night at the Village on October 15th!

🌱 Now enrolling children ages 3-5 for Fall 2026.

As summer winds down, we're looking ahead to another season of curiosity, creativity and connection at Kintsugi Village.

Here, children don't just attend preschool - they cook in our teaching kitchen, create in our art studio, grow food in the garden, explore the pocket forest, and learn through relationships, play and hands-on discovery every day.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we've created a one-of-a-kind preschool campus in Corktown where children build the confidence, curiosity and kindness that become the foundation for kindergarten and beyond.

If you've been looking for a preschool that feels a little different, we'd love to welcome you for a tour. Schedule one through the link here: https://kintsugivillage.org/kintsugi-village-school/

And if you're already part of the Kintsugi Village community, we'd be grateful if you shared this post with a family who might love it too. 💛

🧵 Introducing “Discarded + Thread: An Act of Seeing” — a solo exhibition by Elizabeth Salonen of Elizabeth Salonen | Art+Design, opening at Kintsugi Village September 18th!

In Elizabeth’s words:
“Discarded transforms disposable plastic packaging into permanence. Cast in plaster and ceramic, the overlooked forms of everyday objects — blister packs, cookie sleeves, clamshells — become ceramic vessels, bas-relief sculptures, individual castings, and architectural tiles. Disposable by design, rebirthed into art.
Thread asks you to surrender to stillness. Created through slow, deliberate stitching, these hand-embroidered works on canvas are a meditative counterpoint to overstimulation.
Together, the works are an invitation toward presence — in how we see, and in how we make.”

Mark your calendars for September 18th — we can’t wait to share this one with you. 💛
