Two Amazing Final Days of Summer Camp! 💙

We wrapped up the last two days of Brilliant Detroit Boynton Summer Camp with two incredible field trips! 🚌☀️

Our campers had the opportunity to enjoy the Metro Detroit Youth Day Festival at Belle Isle, where they explored, learned, participated in activities, and connected with others. We also took a trip on the Diamond Jack Riverboat and visited Centennial Park, creating even more opportunities for adventure and discovery. 🚢🌳

By the end of the days, our little campers were definitely tired—but happy! 😴😊

Throughout summer camp, our children had the chance to learn, explore, create, build friendships, develop social skills, try new experiences, and most importantly, have FUN! ❤️

We are so proud of everything they experienced and accomplished this summer. These are the memories they will carry with them long after camp is over. 🌟

Thank you to all the families, staff, partners, and everyone who helped make Brilliant Detroit Boynton Summer Camp such a wonderful experience! 💙

🌱 Our Boynton Garden Beds

Our campers have been busy helping care for our Boynton garden beds! They help water the plants and remove a few weeds while learning how to care for our garden.

They love watching our chile peppers, cherry tomatoes, and watermelon grow! 🍅🌶️🍉

Even better, we use rainwater collected from nature to help water our garden, teaching our campers about sustainability and the importance of taking care of our environment. 💧🌎

🧪 The Science Behind the Fizz!

Our campers had a fizz-tastic time exploring the science behind an Alka-Seltzer reaction! When an Alka-Seltzer tablet hits water, the citric acid and sodium bicarbonate react to create carbon dioxide gas, producing all those exciting bubbles and fizz.

Some campers were amazed, some were a little scared by the reaction, but everyone had fun exploring, observing, and learning through hands-on science! 🫧🔬✨

Science is always more fun when you can see it fizz right before your eyes!

The last days of summer camp have been amazing, creative, and full of learning and exploring! 💛

We have shared so many fun activities, made wonderful memories, and watched our campers build new friendships. It has been so sweet to see the children exchanging phone numbers so they can stay connected even after camp ends. 🥰📱

I am so proud of each and every one of you and all the joy, laughter, and memories you brought to camp. I will truly miss you all, campers! 💕

BD Boynton’s Summer Camp has been such a wonderful experience! Throughout the summer, our campers have participated in engaging, hands-on activities that promote creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth. They have also strengthened their reading and mathematics skills through fun, interactive learning experiences designed to keep young minds active during the summer.

From literacy and math activities to arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, martial art, games, and educational projects, every day has been filled with opportunities to learn, build confidence, and create lasting friendships. Here are some of the great things our campers have done this summer!

Location: Brilliant Detroit Boynton
Partner Organization: Racquet Up Detroit

Today at Brilliant Detroit Boynton, our campers had the opportunity to connect with a group of high school students from Racquet Up Detroit. The teen volunteers served as positive role models by engaging with campers, encouraging teamwork, and leading a variety of outdoor games and activities.

Campers participated in activities including Pickleball, River Monsters, and Chalk on the Hub Lawn, creating a fun and welcoming environment filled with laughter, creativity, and collaboration.

Our campers had a wonderful time and expressed their appreciation for the Racquet Up Detroit students who shared their time, energy, and encouragement. We are grateful for the partnership and the positive impact these young leaders made on our campers today.

Summer camp has been such an amazing experience. Every day is filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments. The children are incredibly intelligent, creative, kind, and so much fun to be around. Watching them grow, explore, and enjoy new experiences has been such a blessing. I’m so grateful to spend my summer with such wonderful kids and to be part of a team that makes every day meaningful.

A huge thank you to the amazing Wayne State University students volunteers who joined us on July 21! 💙💛

Our campers had such a fun and memorable day filled with learning, creating, playing, and growing. One of the highlights was building an Enchanted Forest out of LEGO® bricks, where campers used their creativity, imagination, and teamwork to bring their magical forest to life.

We are so grateful to the Wayne State students volunteers, along with the dedicated teachers and staff at Brilliant Detroit, for sharing your time, energy, and enthusiasm with our children. Your kindness and support made a lasting impact, and we truly appreciate everything you did to make the day so special.
