Today, we honor Phillis Wheatley (also spelled Phyllis Wheatley), a groundbreaking poet and a symbol of resilience and brilliance. Born into slavery, she became the first African-American woman in the United States to publish a book of poetry, challenging the norms of her time and paving the way for future generations of women writers and thinkers. Her words continue to inspire us in the fight for freedom, equality, and justice ππ€β€οΈποΈ
