Detroit Swims Over 79% of children in low-income families have little to no swimming ability, putting our children at an unacceptable risk of drowning.

The YMCA’s Detroit Swims program is a grant and donor-funded program that teaches water safety skills to disadvantaged and/or underserved communities regardless of barriers. Detroit Swims is working to change that in Southeast Michigan.

Today is Y Day of Giving 💙

At Detroit Swims, we believe water safety is not a privilege — it’s a necessity. Every dollar raised helps provide equitable access to swim lessons, drowning prevention education, and life-saving skills for youth across our community.

Through our partnership with the YMCA, we’re not just teaching strokes — we’re building confidence, creating opportunity, and saving lives.

Join us in making waves that matter. Your support helps ensure every child has the chance to be safe, strong, and confident in the water.

Donate today. Share our mission. Be part of the impact.
