Everyone deserves the opportunity to move forward—and the right support can make that opportunity real.

For justice-involved individuals and veterans, rebuilding a life can involve challenges such as finding stable housing, securing employment, managing finances, accessing behavioral health support, and reconnecting with the community.

These barriers are not impossible to overcome. Housing stability provides a foundation for independence. Workforce development creates pathways to skills and meaningful employment. Financial literacy helps individuals make informed decisions, while peer support and community resources provide connection, encouragement, and accountability.

When people are empowered with resources and opportunities, they can build confidence, strengthen their independence, and create more stable futures. And when individuals succeed, families and communities benefit too.

A second chance can be the starting point for a stronger future—but rebuilding after incarceration or other life challenges often requires more than determination. It requires access to opportunity, stability, and support.

Justice-involved individuals and veterans may face barriers to employment, housing, financial stability, behavioral health support, and community reintegration. These challenges can make it harder to move forward, even when someone is ready for change.

At Project Desistance, we believe meaningful progress happens when people have the tools and support to rebuild. Through housing stability, workforce development, case management, peer support, financial literacy, behavioral health resources, and community connections, individuals can strengthen their foundation and pursue new opportunities.
