Food for thought:

What makes a man?

We often hear and see memes, quotes and comments on what real men, good men, secure men and even the right man will do. Just for the record, let me say that men are born, but the type of man we will be is determined by what we are taught and exposed to.

If a boy is not taught what responsible, mature and honest men do, how can he know? Now I'm not giving men a be irresponsible free card, but all of the blame can't just be put on men as if we came here knowing what to do, and the same goes for women.

While men are born, I believe good men are made. Good husbands and fathers are taught by solid examples, by applying themselves to be better on a daily basis. It's easy for us to do nothing, but to be responsible, dependable and loyal takes maturity and determination.

Ladies, you have to be more wise in your choices. Don't just accept a man according to his looks or what he has, investigate what he does. Does he have a job, pay his bills, is he family oriented, is he moral, honest, does he have personal convictions and has he learned from his mistakes in life?

I want my brothers to be the best that we can be, but not only do we ourselves have to want the same thing, those who depend on us have to demand it.

Wives, girlfriends, mothers and all the women who care about their men, if you want to help a grown man be a good man, insist that he does grown man things!

Although this appears to be a woman making reference to a man, it can be applied to both men and women.

This is a priceless truth and it pertains to anyone in love, seeking love or even considering love.

People will do right for those they choose to, we can't make anyone do anything and if we could, would we really want to?

Do I need a love that has to be forced upon me?

If you have to beg, investigate, trap, buy or manipulate a person to do right by you, that is not the person for you.

The truth only hurts those who are unwilling to accept it.

Good Morning !

Food for thought:

I use to believe that a person could make you do something, but I have long since come to realize that, that is no the case.

I do however believe that someone else can provoke us to do something, they can try and persuade us, influence us, bait us or even try to seduce us, but the ultimate decision will rest on us and our determination to not give in.

We wrestle in our minds with good and evil thoughts on a daily basis, and the proof that we are stronger than many claim to be is that we are not incarcerated, institutionalized, hospitalized nor have we committed su***de.

I believe that when people do wrong, it's because their resistance against it has broken down. It doesn't matter if it's committing a crime, breaking a promise, betraying someone's trust, infidelity or even telling a lie, we have to process it before we do it, but we also have the choice to not.

I guess my point to this post is that we should not blame someone else for our actions, even if they played a part in our decision. Now I'm not saying that the pill cannot be bitter, nor the consequences great. Many have been left in debt, with children, brokenhearted, openly shamed and even gone to prison for a decision that they took part in.

But when we fail to accept that we did what we did and blame others, we make ourselves appear to be immature, irresponsible and dishonest. We have to come to realize that even though we are free to make choices, we can't always control the consequences of them.

I too have been down that road and it's not always pretty, but in the long run admitting that I made a mistake, empowered me to avoid making it again.
