Empowering Our Youth to Protect the Ones They Love! ❤️

We are still celebrating the incredible breakthrough our youth had last week! The children of the program took their safety into their own hands during a truly life-changing event. Our amazing community partner, , stepped up to teach our youth the life-saving skill of CPR, fully facilitated by our dedicated board member, Donyell Bartow. 🙏✨

Why this matters for our youth emotional and mental wellness

It Crushes Silent Anxiety: Many children carry hidden fears about their parents or grandparents getting sick or having a medical emergency. Giving youth emergency skills drastically reduces their stress and fear of the unknown.

Boosts Confidence & Knowledge: According to clinical research, early CPR training successfully improves children’s emergency response knowledge from 51% to a staggering 97%, giving them the ultimate confidence boost

Fosters Emotional Wellness: Learning a mature skill like CPR gives our youth a profound sense of self-efficacy and control. They learned that they don't have to be helpless bystanders they have the power to step up, take charge, and save a life when every second counts.

Our youth from walked out of that room changed, they are no longer just kids, they are the confident helpers and heroes of our community!

🌟 Check out a few moments from last week’s empowering session in the video below. 👇

♟️ Checkmate ♟️
The kids had an so much fun diving into the world of chess with Josh yesterday.

it’s amazing to see those young minds in action as the game of chess increase cognitive function. It’s literally a brain workout, while playing it increase speed and power of the brain processing and helps the youth develop critical thinking skills 🧠✨

Beyond the board, we had a special session with Coach Taylor, where the focus was teaching the youth about life “big” moves. They learned so much about the importance of empathy and respecting boundaries, both in the game and with each other. It’s more than just an after school program for fun; it’s about helping our youth grow into kind, thoughtful humans where there mental health is a prioritized.!

When you teach teenagers about their mental health enables them to recognize symptoms in themselves and their peers early, which can prevent more severe, long-term issues. Teens often turn to each other first for help, making peer support a critical, accessible resource

Today we continued with our Finacial Literacy Lesson - Cash Kids Credit- presented by Cunningham of it’s so important to teach kids about money at an early age. Teaching children about money early boosts mental wellness by reducing financial anxiety when they can’t get things they want, fostering confidence, and reducing entitlement. When kids understand the importance of saving, budgeting, and "needs vs. wants" it helps to manage their stress, and to develop patience with their parents which reduces the parents stress and it helps to build a positive, proactive relationship with finances. Teach the early !
