✨ Celebrating a year of growth, leadership, and achievement! ✨

We are incredibly proud of our AKAteens of Detroit as we honored their hard work and accomplishments at our End-of-the-Year Celebration. Throughout the year, these young leaders have demonstrated dedication, confidence, and a commitment to personal growth and community impact.

Thank you to the families, advisors, supporters, and community members who joined us in celebrating their success. The future is bright, and we look forward to seeing all that our teens will continue to achieve!

The AKATeens of Detroit attended the NAACP 71st Annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner on Sunday, April 26, 2026. Teens have been invited the past several years. Teens were very excited to hear Ruby Bridges speak and receive the James Weldon Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award. Of course, we can’t forget about the greetings from the Honorable Mary Sheffield, Mayor of Detroit and the Honorable Gretchen Whitmer, Governor of the State of Michigan.
