The Second Mile Center of Detroit non profit community outreach program servicing metro Detroit families and youth.

Provides positive human contact and a safe haven in the heart of Detroit that gives opportunities to the under privileged, the poor, and the parentless; embracing all races and social economic groups to share in positive experiences and activities while gaining self-esteem and support to move forward in a positive direction.

Kentucky Derby Night At the Races was a success. Thank you to all who supported us and worked with us. Special shout out to Copper Hop Brewing Co for being the one and only Sponsor. So wonderful to have so many young people come to support the Second Mile Center of Detroit. It is encouraging. They care. Not for the short time but for the long haul. They get it not only by attendance, but their contributions during the event. Thank you to Lakeshore Presbyterian Church for being with us for so long in the valley and up on the mountain.

Tommie Robinson a former student of Second Mile Center. A boxer who won his match tonight at motor city. We are so proud of him and we know that his father who passed away was watching him and cheering him on as well as us. It was an honor for him to request that we’d be present. Tommy Hearns was there too!! God bless him. Pastor in the house outside the 4 walls.
