OPEN CALL: Race Equity Assessment Beta Testers

Earlier this month, we put out a call for nonprofits with at least 10 paid staff based in the U.S. to beta test our forthcoming race equity assessment tool. We are still looking for organizations to participate, starting in January 2022. The entire process will span 10-12 weeks and take about 1-2 hours per week of an organizational leader’s time.

Making (Or Taking) Space: Initial Themes on Nonprofit Transitions from White to BIPOC Leaders, a new report, explores common challenges facing incoming nonprofit leaders of color who take over from white executive directors. Written by the Building Movement Project for the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, the report offers recommendations for supporting new executives of color.

DPC has received initial funding for an 18-month pilot with a lean staff to formalize governance, operations, vision, and values and continue developing programming and partnerships. This Coalition Leader position is the first to be hired, and while the initial tenure will be on a contractual basis for the first 18 months, we are confident of, and committed to, using the initial period to secure long-term resources for this key position to continue in a long-term role.
