Homeownership is the ultimate anchor for our communities, but "zoning frictions" are keeping the supply low and prices high. It’s hard to build a legacy when the very ground you stand on is gatekept by outdated land-use policies.

Zoning reform isn’t just a policy debate: it’s a human rights issue. When land-use innovation creates more affordable units, it provides the housing security necessary for emotional wholeness. For many women, especially Black women navigating systemic barriers, the lack of inventory isn't a personal failure; it's a systemic design flaw.

We are pushing for changes that link policy to community anchors. When a woman has a stable place to call home, her nervous system can finally move from survival to peace. This is where real healing and wealth building begin. Let’s break down the barriers that stop us from owning our futures.

The journey to homeownership shouldn’t feel like a debt trap. For many Black women, the road to legacy is blocked by an average of $41,000 in student loan debt. This isn’t just a personal hurdle; it’s a systemic barrier that impacts our nervous systems and limits our ability to build real wealth.

At Faith In Girls, we know that true independence starts with emotional wholeness, but it’s sustained by ownership. We are calling for public policy changes that link student debt relief directly to down-payment assistance. Your education should be a bridge to a deed, not a weight that keeps you from your front door.

It’s time to stop penalizing women for seeking education and start prioritizing equity. Let’s advocate for systems that recognize housing as a right and ownership as a pathway to freedom. Together, we can break the cycle and build a future rooted in security.

The numbers tell a story that hard work alone can't fix.

Currently, Black mortgage applicants are denied at nearly double the rate of others: 21% vs 11%. This isn’t just a statistic; it’s a systemic barrier to the legacy and stability every woman deserves.

At Faith In Girls, we believe housing is a human right. We are advocating for automated appraisal reform and fair lending enforcement to level the playing field. Real independence starts with a home you own and a system that respects your worth.
