“Life Directions celebrated our annual Community Cookout on August 9th. It was organized by a team of young adults who planned the day over 7 weeks. The theme was “What is Community Without You!?” Community elders, young adults, teens and children were reminded of their power to influence the community. The young and the young at heart enjoyed each other’s company, played games, and made new connections and friends. We wish to thank our partners at Western International High School, Amelia Earhart Middle School, and all who partner with us for the sake of future generations.”

Time to celebrate some great news, DPSCD!

DPSCD students are outpacing 91% of school districts nationwide, gaining 1.21 grade levels of learning each year, which is above the National and Michigan averages, according to the Harvard‑Stanford Education Recovery Scorecard.

It gets even better! DPSCD is one of just six districts in the country named a “District on the Rise.” This is leadership in motion, student excellence in motion! This is educator impact!

This is DPSCD embracing ! We’re making strides and the growth will continue.
