There’s something special about a Saturday at the Y during youth basketball season. 🏀

From parents cheering in the stands to the excitement on each player’s face as they pass, shoot, block, rebound, and score alongside friends, youth basketball brings our community together to cheer on and celebrate our youth.

For , we’re recognizing the impact of our basketball program not just for our participants, but for our community as a whole. While our players learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development on the court, our coaches, volunteers, and members teach our youth the greatest lesson of all: the value of community and connection.

We’re excited to welcome the AmeriCorps NCCC team to YMCA Camp Ohiyesa! 🏕️

Over the next month, the team will support outdoor education and facility improvement projects at camp.

AmeriCorps NCCC is looking for young adults aged 18-24 to join them! During a 10-month service term, volunteers travel across the country to support efforts with missions in environmental stewardship, infrastructure improvement, and more. Today is our 174th birthday 🎂🎉

One hundred seventy-four years ago, we opened our doors to serve the Metro Detroit area. With our staff, volunteers, donors, and community members by our side, we are honored to reach this milestone and be an active part of the Metro Detroit community.
