Esperanza presents installations built from quilts, piñatas, garments, and found materials that carry histories of labor, migration, and immigration.

These installations by Irene Perez are the result of labor, both lived and inherited. They hold the weight of doing something again, not just as a process but as a way of living.

In 2024, Killers of the Flower Moon received multiple Academy Award nominations. The film was directed by Martin Scorsese and featured strong Indigenous participation, including producers, consultants, and Osage Nation involvement.

While Indigenous filmmakers have earned recognition at major film festivals and award ceremonies, representation at the Academy Awards remains limited.
