"Poverty can cause children permanent damage, both physically and mentally, and in both the short and long term. A lack of essentials can stunt their growth, cause them to fall behind in school, and lead to health problems for them. It also affects their roles within their families, communities, and society as a whole. Poverty denies children their human rights, and it leads to a vicious cycle of deprivation, which is difficult to break without proper support or assistance."

Fair Wages for All

A collaboration of seven grassroots organizations, EJAM is a 501(c)3 non-profit building working-class power throughout the state. This means working-class people who are organized and trained to positively influence policy changes in their communities at all levels resulting in livable wages, job stability, and improved quality of life. EJAM develops leaders, educates voters, and strengthens organizations dedicated to social justice issues. EJAM’s sister organization, Michigan Economic Justice Action Fund (MEJAF), is a 501(c)4 directly engaged in lobbying legislators to pass laws and policies that improve wages and benefits for low-income workers.
