Today, CUYFD was proud to participate in Urban Alliance’s Unlocking Potential: Building Tomorrow’s Workforce Through Employer Partnership convening at Wayne State University’s Industry Innovation Center.

The event brought together employers, community leaders, educators, and workforce development partners committed to creating meaningful career pathways for young people across Southeast Michigan. We were honored to join the conversation, share insights from our work with Detroit youth, and explore new opportunities to strengthen the talent pipeline for the next generation.

When organizations come together with a shared vision, we can create stronger partnerships, brighter futures, and thriving communities.

What an incredible evening at Faith in Action!

We are still reflecting on the powerful conversations, inspiring performances, and meaningful connections that made this event so special.

A heartfelt congratulations to our Founder & CEO, Marsialle Arbuckle, Sr., who was honored with the Spirit of Detroit Award presented by Councilwoman Angela Whitfield-Calloway. This recognition reflects his unwavering commitment to strengthening youth, families, and communities across Detroit.

We were also blessed by an outstanding performance from the Detroit Youth Choir, whose talent, energy, and passion uplifted everyone in attendance.

A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Dr. Monty Burks, for sharing wisdom and inspiration throughout the evening. One quote that resonated deeply with attendees was:

“When you have equipped houses of worship, you have game changers.”

Thank you to the Faith Communities Coalition on Foster Care (FCCOC), our vendors, community partners, dedicated staff, and especially Adam and Gwen for helping bring this vision to life. Your hard work and commitment made this evening a tremendous success.

Together, we are building stronger families, empowering communities, and creating lasting impact throughout Detroit.

🌅 Mental Health Awareness Month may be wrapping up — but the work never stops.

This month we talked about:
💜 Breaking the silence — You Are Not Alone
🌿 Healthy coping — finding what helps you heal
🤝 Community as medicine — the power of connection
👀 Knowing the signs — being the one who notices

And today’s message is simple: Keep. Going.

Mental health isn’t a destination — it’s a daily practice. Some days will be harder than others. And CUYFD will be here through all of them.

To every young person on Detroit’s Westside who took a step toward healing this month — whether that was a conversation, a new coping skill, or simply admitting you needed support — we see you, and we are proud of you. 💜🏆

CUYFD was honored to participate in the DWIHN Mental Health Walk celebrating the opening of a new 52-bed mental health facility that will serve residents throughout Northwest Detroit.

Mental health is an essential part of community wellness, and we applaud the continued investment in accessible, compassionate care for individuals and families who need support. The opening of this facility represents an important step toward expanding resources and strengthening mental health services in our community.

We are grateful to join community partners, advocates, and residents in raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting mental wellness for all.

Together, we can create communities where every individual has access to the support and care they deserve.
