Join CUYFD and our community partners for DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day as we work together to promote safe medication disposal and prevent prescription drug misuse in our communities!

Unused or unwanted medications can pose serious risks when left unsecured in our homes. By safely disposing of medications you no longer need, you’re taking an important step toward protecting our youth, families, and loved ones. 💪🏾

CUYFD was excited to attend the Detroit Pistons x NBA Foundation Tech Challenge at TechTown Detroit! 🏀💻✨

The event brought together students from Michigan State University, Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University, and Pensole Lewis College for an innovative design-thinking competition focused on the intersection of sports, technology, and the fan experience.

It was inspiring to see the next generation of talent take the stage, share their ideas, and demonstrate what’s possible when creativity, technology, and opportunity come together. We also appreciated the opportunity to connect and network with leaders from across Detroit’s sports, business, technology, and community sectors.

Congratulations to all of the students who participated, and thank you to the Detroit Pistons and NBA Foundation for creating opportunities that encourage young people to innovate, collaborate, and dream big! 🙌🏾

That’s a wrap on Future Ready Detroit. 🎓

Four Saturdays. Twenty-one young people.

Today they stood in front of a room full of mentors and family and told everybody who they are, what they learned, and where they’re going. Two minutes each.

They walked out with a laptop, a resume, a professional headshot, a professional outfit, and a plan they wrote themselves.

Our CEO Marsialle Arbuckle, Sr. closed things out with some words for the graduates and put a copy of his book in every one of their hands. 📖

Our Youth Advisory Council president came through and invited the graduates to join the Council — the work doesn’t have to stop in September.

Thank you to Developing KIDS for hosting us all four Saturdays. To our Ford volunteers who gave up their mornings. To the CUYFD staff who showed up and made every session run. And to the families who filled that room today.

And to our young people: you did the work. 💜

Week 3 of Future Ready Detroit is in the books. 📸👔

This morning our young people practiced interviews with volunteers from Ford, picked out professional clothes, and sat for their first professional headshots. Three Saturdays in, they walked in with resumes and walked out ready to sit across the table from an employer.

One more Saturday. Next week they present their plans and earn their certificates.
