Now Hiring: Female Weekend Monitor – Shelter Setting

All Things Women Inc. is seeking a Weekend Monitor to support our women’s shelter program.

Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays only
Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Pay: $22 per hour

The Weekend Monitor will help ensure the facility remains safe, welcoming, and supportive for residents. Responsibilities include monitoring the building, completing resident check-ins and headcounts, responding to basic resident needs, and reporting any safety or emergency concerns to shelter leadership.

Applicants should have some experience working with women in a shelter, housing, human services, or similar supportive setting.

We are looking to fill this position immediately.

As we come to the end of Women’s History Month, All Things Women Inc. is proud to honor and celebrate the incredible women who inspire, lead, and uplift every day. ❤️

While we wish we could highlight all women making an impact, we are excited to shine a light on six phenomenal Black women entrepreneurs from Detroit who are doing amazing work in their communities.

These women are innovators, leaders, and change-makers—building businesses, creating opportunities, and pouring back into the city that helped shape them. Their impact goes far beyond entrepreneurship; they are creating legacy, opening doors, and inspiring the next generation.

🌹 As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that celebrating women is not limited to just one month—it’s something we carry with us every day.

These donations assist us with feeding and clothing our women, providing a daily lunch and snacks, toiletries and sheets provide a safe and healthy shelter for our 77 women. These corporate sponsorships helps us keep our doors open and supplements our lost federal and local funding.
DTW5 has not only become a lifeline for this program they are truly part of the All Things Women family.

Today, we celebrate ONE YEAR at our St. Marys location 💜

One year ago, All Things Women Inc. opened the doors of our St. Marys shelter with faith, determination, and a vision to create a safe haven for women and families in need. What stood before us was more than a building, it was an opportunity to build hope.

Over the past year at our St. Marys location, we have:
✨ Provided safe shelter to women and children in crisis
✨ Expanded our capacity to serve more families
✨ Created spaces filled with dignity, warmth, and fresh beginnings
✨ Built a community rooted in love, compassion, and restoration

Every painted wall, every made bed, every warm meal served represents a story of resilience. We have watched women rediscover their strength. We have seen families begin again. And through it all, we have been reminded that when women are supported, entire communities are transformed.

To our volunteers, donors, partners, and staff - thank you. Your generosity and belief in our mission have made this year possible. Because of you, All Things Women Inc is more than a shelter. It is a place of healing. A place of growth. A place of new beginnings.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude and excited for what’s ahead. Year one was about building the foundation. Year two is about expanding the impact.

All Things Women, Inc. has officially opened 26 additional emergency shelter beds to support unhoused women in the City of Detroit. The need is urgent—and we’re stepping up to meet it.

Workforce Resource

Now is the perfect time to upscale your career! The DTE Energy Efficiency Academy Workforce Development Novice Training Program is offering a 6-week paid training and job placement program.

Interested candidates will pursue a trade career in improving homes to become more energy-efficient, healthy and affordable. Participants will learn about energy efficiency, lead abatement while earning multiple certificates through the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and the State of Michigan. Participants will also receive tailored professional development focused on launching successful careers in the growing clean energy economy.
