Last Thursday, U SNAP BAC had the opportunity to host a resource table at the Detroit Energy Efficiency Home Improvement Program (DEEHIP) Contractor & Partner Mixer! 🏠✨

We’re so happy to be in community with Walker-Miller Energy Services and Enterprise Community Partners and connect with other organizations and partners working to create stronger, more sustainable communities across Detroit

🚨Did a recent power outage spoil your SNAP groceries? You may be able to replace the value of the food you lost.

If SNAP-purchased groceries spoiled because of a power outage lasting 4 hours or more or storm damage, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) may replace your lost benefits, up to one month's allotment.

But don't wait, you must apply within 10 days of the loss.

Here's what you'll need:
💚Proof of your power outage from your utility provider (such as DTE Energy)
💚 Complete the Food Replacement Affidavit (DHS-601) through your MI Bridges account or your local MDHHS office
💚Report your food loss by calling MDHHS at (844) 464-3447
