Reach Out To Youth

Reach Out To Youth Introduces children ages 7 to 11 in underrepresented populations to the possibility of careers in the medical arts and sciences.

Michigan State University’s chapter of the Student National Medical Association is proud to host its 8th Reach Out to Youth. This year due to safety concerns the event will be held virtually on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 9 am to Noon. Our theme this year is “Immununity in the Community”. Learning the importance of immunity is this year's timely topic. We extend invitations children between the

ages of 7 thru 11, and their parents, to attend a Saturday program of incredible workshops designed to motivate youth into a career in the medical profession. Everyone is welcome and the program is free of charge. This program targets students underrepresented in the fields of science and medicine; specifically those of African American, Latin American, and Native American descent. It is our hope that Reach out to Youth plays a pivotal role in every child who dreams of becoming a doctor one day.
