Youth Development Resource Center - Detroit

Youth Development Resource Center - Detroit https://linktr.ee/YDRC The Youth Development Resource Center (YDRC) supports youth development providers in Detroit.

The Youth Development Resource Center (YDRC) supports youth development providers across the Detroit area to strengthen their individual and collective impact on youth. We work with hundreds of providers across Detroit – large and small with a range of program offerings — to strengthen their individual and collective impact on youth. The YDRC focuses on empowering youth development providers that

fill opportunity gaps in youth’s access to quality learning experiences — expanding the time, places, and ways in which youth learn and grow. Young people find and ignite their passions, get connected to caring adults, and are more likely to become lifelong learners with skills for success. OUR MISSION
To improve the quality of Detroit-area youth-serving organizations to maximize their impact on youth and to advocate for accessible high-quality youth development opportunities. OUR VISION
To connect all Detroit-area youth to high-quality youth development opportunities that grow their capacities to thrive in school and life.

In May, we celebrated the culmination of our 2025–2026 Acting With Data cohort!

Over the past eight months, 45 youth-serving organizations engaged in workshops, one-on-one coaching, program quality assessments, and improvement planning to better understand how young people experience their programs and identify areas for growth.

Through this process, cohort members used data not just to measure impact, but to reflect on practice, strengthen program quality, and make meaningful improvements that support youth growth and belonging.

This work would not be possible without our incredible coaches, program assessors, and facilitators who continue to help build a culture of Continuous Quality Improvement across Detroit’s youth development ecosystem.

We’re excited to continue this work in Fall 2026. Stay tuned for application updates!

Michigan’s young people deserve access to safe, engaging, and enriching opportunities beyond the school day.

As conversations around Section 32n funding continue, we join partners across the state in uplifting the importance of before-school, afterschool, and summer learning programs for young people in communities across Michigan.

These programs create opportunities for learning, connection, safety, and growth, and the need continues to be clear across Detroit and Southeast Michigan.

Thank you to the educators, providers, advocates, youth leaders, and community partners continuing to share stories, data, impact, and advocacy for OST programming. Together, we can continue investing in opportunities that help young people thrive.

🎉 That’s a wrap on the 2025–2026 Equity Accelerator for Youth Development Cohort!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the opportunity to celebrate, reflect, and recognize the incredible work of this year’s cohort. From our culminating dinner and Learning Lab debrief to the virtual capstone celebration and final presentations at the YDRC Summit, this closing chapter has been filled with connection, growth, and shared learning.

During the culminating dinner, cohort members reflected on their Learning Lab journey, celebrated one another’s growth, and received their stipends.

The cohort officially completed their capstone projects by facilitating a group session at the YDRC Summit for 250+ youth development professionals, partners, and community leaders. Their presentation reflected months of collaboration, shared learning, and collective visioning for a stronger youth development ecosystem.

Thank you to every cohort member, facilitator, partner, and supporter who helped make this experience so meaningful. We are excited to see how this learning continues to show up across the field. 🌱

Here’s to the 2025–2026 EAYD Cohort. 💫
