ow Life Skills can be put into use at home, school and everyday life. Not only are the basics to the sport discussed, but the participants will have access to the game of golf, a sport of privilege, to teach life lessons such as the values of consistency and practice. The importance of honesty is stressed, because if you cheat at golf, you get disqualified. The benefits of Summer Etiquette and Golf Camp:
1. the opportunity to learn or reinforce traditional etiquette, manners and social graces, while having unique summer camp experience, and
2. develop an appreciation for the positive personal and social values associated with golf as another opportunity to transfer manners and courteous habits to their everyday lives. A golf shirt (polo), golf hat, lanyard and lunch is provided to each camper. Golf lessons are conducted each day after lunch with a student ratio of 1:8. Golf equipment and golf balls are provided as well. Campers will receive classroom training in the following areas:

• Unwritten Golf Etiquette
• Types of Golf Clubs
• Parts of the Golf Course and Proper Golf Attire
• Golf Scoring

• Beginner Grip, Stance and Swinging Techniques
• Theory of the X, and
• Much more
Research has shown the primary reasons young people, do not play golf is due to access to affordable youth golf programs as well as places that would welcome them. Additionally, Golf attire, golf equipment and green fees, even to the public golf course right here in the City of Detroit are expensive. Each day will contain:
• 2.00 hours of hands on traditional etiquette instruction
• 0.75 hours for lunch
• 1.00 hour of Golf History, Theory and Course Etiquette
• 2.00 hours of Beginner Grip and Golf Skills
