We are launching the Woodbridge Time Exchange site in March of 2012 and will need beta testers (you!) to get rolling. Stick around for more information and events. A Time Exchange is a community system in which members volunteer their time helping others, and gain time ‘credit’ in return. They can then use that time credit to receive help from someone else. For example, if you spend an hour helpin

g your neighbor clean out her yard, you would gain one hour of ‘credit’, which you could then use to get one hour of help from another member of the time bank. Members can exchange anything from babysitting services to teaching a new skill to running errands for someone. In this system, everyone’s time is equal, and everybody can get the help they need! Last year we attempted a TimeBank in Woodbridge but it didn't sustain itself. In order to close out the WTE website, I though it'd be appropriate to request any feedback from anyone who may have used it. Woodbridge Time Exchange will be hosting a potluck next Wednesday and we want you to come!

Here's the info:

When: Wednesday, May 9 at 6:00 PM
Where: Citadel of Faith Church 1419 West Warren Avenue & Trumbull. Enter on Warren side at the big wooden doors.
Bring: Please bring a dish or drink to pass if you can.

There'll be eating, chatting, and hopefully the sprouting of some new time exchanges (it's getting to be yard work season, hint hint!). If you haven't signed up for the website yet, coordinators will be there to help you get started.

The Woodbridge Time Exchange is member run and is organized by a core group of Woodbridge residents who have been meeting regularly since Fall of 2011. If you are interested in taking an active role in helping to organize the WTE, please contact us.

It's official! The first Woodbridge Time Exchange (pilot) Orientations are coming up! If you are interesting learning more or being involved, please come to one of the two initial orientations. If you can't make it, let us know you want to get involved and we'll keep you updated for the next meeting.

Dates:
Wed, March 28th at 6pm - 7pm
Sat, March 31st at 1pm-2pm

Location:
Citadel of Faith Church 1419 West Warren Avenue & Trumbull. Enter on Warren side at the big wooden doors.

Bring questions, friends, and if possible a laptop (not required). It'll be a time to:
+ Learn what time banking is in more specifics
+ Walk though signing up and using the website
+ Start sharing offers and requests
+ Meet neighbors and enjoy refreshments

We can answer any questions you may have. This meeting is also a great opportunity to meet and mingle with neighbors.
