MOTORCITY HITS RECORDS/ FAMOUS RECORDS CORP REVISING THE MOTOWN MAGIC IN DETROIT
MAA NEWS - The Motorcity sound is back on the scene, and some of Detroit's great entertainers are grabbing their fair share of the industrial towns music history.
The album "Motorcity Love Songs" became available for worldwide digital release January 26, 2016. The worldwide distribution is a joint venture with Motorcity Hits Records based in Detroit, and the Florida based company Famous Records Corp.
The Four Tops' new hit song "Miles Away" is the lead single off the album, and The Contours w/ Joe Billingslea featuring Charles Davis is giving their rendition of an Arron Neville song titled "Even If My Heart Would Break".
Additional artists such as R&B diva Laura Lee, 90's crooner Keith Washington, Issac Hayes' background singer Pat Lewis, The Original Vandellas, The Dramatics w/ LJ Reynolds, and the late Levis Stubbs (the lead singer of the Four Tops) have all participated in the effort to rekindle a music industry that is still alive and bustling in Detroit.
"We are focused, and got our marketing challenges ahead of us; our Northern Soul market is our primary focus," said Billy Wilson Senior Executive Officer for Motorcity Hits Records.
Detroit locals celebrities such as Paul Hill of George Clinton's P-Funk Allstars, Carla Cooke (daughter of 50's crooner Sam Cooke), Mark Scott lead singer of the Miracles, Charles Davis (former lead singer of the Contours w/ Joe Billingslea, & current lead singer of the Shades Of Blue), and Duane Parham (popular Detroit saxophonist & film producer) are all contributors to the album. Theo Peoples (former lead singer of the Four Tops & The Temptations) is also a participating artist. All recordings are available digitally right now on Amazon.com.
