🥧This sweet boy is a total snuggle bug who seems happiest when he’s right by his people. ❤️ Out in the yard, he wanted to stay close to me the entire time. Once he got comfortable, he loved rolling over for belly rubs, giving kisses, and soaking up all the attention. He initially seemed a little unsure about getting in my lap, but once he realized he was welcome there, he was all about the love!

🥧He’s treat motivated and quickly picked up “sit,” taking treats very gently. He isn’t showing much interest in toys right now, but honestly, being loved on seems to be his favorite thing. He’s still gaining confidence and experience on leash and can wrap around your legs, so he’ll benefit from a little patience and guidance as he learns. He can also get a little overwhelmed in busier situations, but he greets people appropriately and just needs reassurance when things feel like a lot.

🥧All around, this is one very sweet, loving pup who just wants to be close to his people and feel safe and loved.

🩷She walks very nicely on leash and has such a calm, sweet demeanor. She’s a little unsure in new surroundings and seems to be looking for a little extra reassurance right now. When I sat on the ground, she would come over to check in with me, although she was still a little hesitant to settle in. She did her business and then headed toward the gate, seeming to prefer the comfort of being indoors.

🩷Inside, she took some time to explore before checking back in at the door. Tossing treats her way encouraged her to come over, and she even showed that she knows “sit”! She’ll just need a little practice learning to take treats gently. A squeaker caught her off guard and made her a bit nervous, so she chose to give it some space.

🩷She was very sweet about accepting pets, and I loved seeing her confidence grow throughout our time together. Each time I stopped petting her, she would come back and stay just a little longer. She would come when called for the most part and clearly has a gentle, affectionate side waiting to shine.

🩷This sweet girl seems like she just needs a little time, patience, and reassurance to feel safe and comfortable. Once she realizes she’s in a place where she can relax, I think we’ll see more and more of her lovely personality come out.

🦘This sweet boy is a gentle soul who is still learning to trust the world around him. He may be a little timid at first, but underneath that uncertainty is a loving dog who really wants to connect.

🦘Once he started feeling more comfortable, he showed us his playful side, wandering around the yard, exploring, and even chasing after toys with the cutest little pounces. He loves being close to his people and will happily curl up in your lap for pets and attention. He’s incredibly gentle and has such a sweet, submissive nature.

🦘He’s still finding his confidence, but he’s trying so hard—and every little bit of bravery he shows is absolutely adorable. This boy needs someone patient and kind who will give him the time and reassurance he needs to blossom. With the right person by his side, I think there’s so much more of his personality waiting to come out.

🦘Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. They require time and patience to be the best that they can be!

👑🩷 MEET THE PRINCESS — AND VOLUNTEER FAVORITE — CECE CARTER! 🩷👑

🐶 Approx. 5 years old
⚖️ 33 lbs.
💕 Spayed female

If you’re looking for a calm, sweet, gentle girl who already knows how to be a wonderful house guest, you need to meet CeCe. ❤️

CeCe recently went on a slumber party away from the shelter, and she did fantastically well! Her time in a home gave us an even better glimpse of the dog she truly is:

🏡 Housebroken
🛏️ Crate trained
🦮 Easy on leash
🍪 Sits for snacks and takes them gently
💗 Enjoys affection and belly rubs
🐕 Has been non-reactive around nearby dogs

CeCe is currently a little skinny, so food is understandably pretty high on her priority list. And really…who can blame her? 🥹 Give this girl some good meals, security, love and time to settle in, and we think she’ll blossom even more.

She may also be able to share her home with a canine sibling following slow and proper introductions. 🐾

Because CeCe’s story is actually pretty simple:

For the FIRST time, we’re giving you a sneak peek inside The Motor City Fix Machine, our mobile spay/neuter clinic! Right now, Scooby Doo, Scrappy Doo, and some stuffy friends are keeping the cages warm. But soon, real pets will be here receiving the care they need.

🥕This sweet girl is learning that maybe, just maybe, the world isn’t quite as scary as she thought.

🥕When she first came to us, she was so anxious and overwhelmed. But after getting some time to settle in somewhere quiet, we started to see little glimpses of the sweet girl underneath all that uncertainty.

🥕She’s still figuring things out, but she clearly wants to connect with someone. It took a little courage and a few attempts before she finally decided my lap was a safe place to be. Once she made that brave choice, she stayed close. She’s still learning that gentle pets can be a good thing, and toys are something she hasn’t quite figured out yet. But treats? Those she understands! She takes them nicely and will happily sit for them.

🥕She isn’t completely comfortable yet, but the difference in her in just a few days is HUGE. And that’s what makes me so hopeful for her. She just needs someone who will be patient, move at her pace and give her the chance to discover the confident, loving dog she’s waiting to become.

🥕She doesn’t need someone to fix her. She just needs someone willing to give her time.

💕This sweet girl is calm, gentle, and loves attention! She pulls a little on walks but overall does pretty well.

💕After exploring the yard, she came over and backed her little rear end right up against me for some serious b***y scratches! 😂 Every time I stopped, she would circle around and position herself right back where she started—clearly she knows exactly what she likes!

💕She gives a few sweet kisses and is very treat motivated. She sits, shakes paw, and takes treats nicely. She wasn’t interested in toys today, but she was much more interested in getting attention and those much-loved b***y scratches.
