š¾ Hidden Value: The True Cost of Fostering
Fostering isn't always simple. Sometimes it means unexpected vet bills or emergency care in the middle of the night. Here are three dogs whose stories show what some examples of what your support makes possible.
Valravn arrived in foster care with pneumonia, severely underweight, shut down and terrified. With veterinary care, a careful refeeding plan, and patience, she transformed. Today, as Ella, she's not only thriving in her forever home, she's helped welcome more than 30 foster dogs along their own journeys.
Deck the Halls came into foster just before the holidays. Soon after, she was diagnosed with two knees requiring surgery ā procedures that often run $3,000 each. Her foster was all in, and so was FoDACC. Months and two surgeries later, her foster couldn't imagine letting her go. Deck the Halls became Maybee, and today she's thriving in the home that never gave up on her.
Lyso came home with what looked like routine kennel cough. Within days, it became pneumonia, and her symptoms escalated overnight. Her foster rushed her to the emergency vet and stayed by her side. Today, healthy and happy, she's living her new life as Siren with a family of her own.
In 2025 , FoDACC spent $13,500 on emergency and medical care for 15 foster dogs ā because no dog should be turned away over the cost of care. That's one of the many things your donation makes possible. š
Team FoDACC fundraising continues through August 31 ā every dollar goes straight to programming like this. Join or donate: https://link.orlo.us/fodacc_v5JOf
