The school year may be ending, but the memories and community built along the way will last much longer.

This year's Field Day brought together students, families, staff, and volunteers for a day of fun, connection, and celebration.

What started as a vision for healing has grown into a space for connection, reflection, and community. 🌱

Now in its second year, the Gilda's Club Metro Detroit Community Garden at Durfee Innovation Society continues to provide a place of serenity for individuals and families impacted by cancer while creating a welcoming space for the community to enjoy.

Thanks to Gilda's and Blue Cross Complete of Michigan , Durfee residents can enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables this summer. Cheers to a safe and healthy summer!

For nearly a decade, we've partnered with Durfee Elementary-Middle School to invest in the students, families, and future of this neighborhood.

Our annual Field Day is one way we celebrate that partnership, bringing together more than 300 students to recognize their hard work and the successful completion of another school year. ☀️🎉

While the games, music, bounce houses, and snow cones make the day memorable, what matters most are the relationships behind it. Consistent investment in young people helps create stronger schools, stronger families, and stronger neighborhoods.

Thank you to Deloitte and all of the volunteers and partners who helped make this celebration possible. Together, we're creating opportunities for students to thrive.

More than 300 Durfee Elementary-Middle School students celebrated the last day of school with games, music, snow cones, bounce houses, laser tag, and more.

It was a day full of fun, connection, and celebration because a great school year deserves a great finish.

Transformation does not happen because of one person or one organization alone. It happens when people consistently show up for each other.

🎮 Big news for Future Firsts Esports!

The third annual Esports National Signing Day recently celebrated students from the Class of 2026 who are taking their gaming talents to the collegiate level. Hosted by PlayVS and USA TODAY Sports, the event highlighted top student gamers from across the country who are earning opportunities through esports.

We're proud to share that Future Firsts Esports student **Mykel ""Illummi"" Sykes** of Denby High School was featured as part of this national recognition.

🎮 Esport: Fortnite

Mykel's achievement is a powerful reminder that esports is more than gaming. It creates pathways to higher education, scholarships, leadership development, teamwork, and future careers in technology and digital industries.

The numbers tell a powerful story.

🎓Central High School's graduation rate has increased by 14 percentage points since 2019 and now exceeds 79%, including a 9 percentage point increase over the previous year.

Combined enrollment at Central High School and Durfee Elementary-Middle School has also grown by 19%, increasing from 867 students in 2017 to 1,035 students.

These numbers represent more than growth. They reflect what is possible when students, families, schools, nonprofits, and community partners come together around a shared vision for opportunity.

Through neighborhood revitalization efforts, the Durfee Innovation Society, Future Firsts, E3M, and partnerships with schools and community organizations, Life Remodeled is helping create environments where students have greater access to mentorship, leadership development, scholarships, workforce exposure, and post-secondary opportunities.

Graduation season is about more than diplomas. It is about young people discovering their potential, overcoming obstacles, and stepping confidently into their future.
