You might recognize the name Bessie Coleman - a major street near O'Hare is named in her honor, and with good reason. Next week, Gigi Coleman, Bessie’s great-niece, will celebrate the legacy of the world’s first African American female pilot with history and family stories. Ms. Coleman will be on-site at the Library.
