🎓 Alumni Spotlight: Ariel

Ariel recently graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a degree in Business Administration, concentrating in Management with a minor in Psychology! During college, she gained hands-on experience as an Internal Audit Intern at Kelly Services through Developing K.I.D.S. and participated in a PAR 3 Apprenticeship Program. She was also actively involved on campus through the GStar Dance Team and Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. We’re so proud of Ariel and excited to see what’s next! 💙✨🎓

Our 2026 Education Celebration was a special time as we celebrated our Kindergarten, 5th grade, 8th grade, high school, and college graduates as they prepare for their next step in their educational journeys!

We are so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where their journeys take them next. A special thank you to our keynote speaker,
Victor S. Muhammad, for encouraging and inspiring our students and families.

Prolific Leaders of Tomorrow ( P.L.O.T.) is a mentoring group within our afterschool program designed to support and empower young men in grades 6–12.

Recently, participants from throughout the years came together for a special P.L.O.T. Reunion, reconnecting with mentor and Developing K.I.D.S. Board Member Charles Johnson, who has faithfully led the program since 2017. Over the past 9 years, Mr. Charles has poured wisdom, guidance, and encouragement into countless young men, and this reunion was a beautiful opportunity for them to show their appreciation.

Thank you, Mr. Charles, for helping shape the leaders of tomorrow. 👏✨

What an unforgettable evening at Momentum at 20: Reflecting Forward! Thank you to our guests, volunteers, auction donors, and everyone who joined us in celebrating 20 years of Developing K.I.D.S.

A special thank you to Randy Scott 🎷 for an incredible performance and to our emcee, Tati Amare , for guiding us through the evening. Guests were inspired by remarks from Detroits City Council President, Councilman James Tate , Commissioner Alisha Bell , Commissioner Monique Baker McCormick, and heartfelt stories shared by our alumni, a current participant, a parent, and a volunteer.

As we reflect on 20 years of service, we are reminded that there is still more work to do—more youth to empower, more families to support, and more opportunities to create.
